JOB TITLE: Coordinator, Child Dev. Center WAGE/HOUR STATUS:
Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Talent Acquisition DEPT./SCHOOL:
Child Development Center DATE REVISED: March 2026 PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide leadership and oversight for the daily operation of the
Child Development Center to ensure compliance with Texas Health and
Human Services (HHSC) Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards, Texas
Rising Star program expectations, and applicable district and
funding program requirements. The role ensures a safe, high-quality
early childhood program while supporting staff, families,
regulatory compliance, and effective program operations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification: High school diploma or
equivalent required Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university
preferred Meets Texas Health and Human Services qualifications for
a Child Care Center Director Coursework or certification in early
childhood education, child development, or a related field
preferred CPR and First Aid certification preferred Special
Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of Texas Health and Human Services
Child Care Licensing Minimum Standards Familiarity with Texas
Rising Star quality standards and expectation Ability to coordinate
with regulatory agencies and external partners Strong communication
skills, both written and oral Strong organizational skills Strong
Interpersonal Skills Demonstrates ability to develop and implement
staff development Ability to promote a safe and orderly environment
Ability to manage multiple operational systems and documentation
requirements Experience: Three (3) year experience working in an
early childhood education or child care setting Supervisory and
leadership experience Experience working with families and
community partners MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Coordinate
with Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) regarding child care
licensing requirements, compliance, inspections, and communication
related to the operation of the child care center. Coordinate with
the Texas Workforce Commission to ensure the center meets Texas
Rising Star accreditation standards and related program
expectations. Ensure required documentation and compliance
requirements for Compensatory Education Home Instruction (CEHI) and
Child Care Management Services (CCMS) are maintained and submitted.
Manage and monitor the Procare system, including attendance
tracking, enrollment records, and program documentation. Support
the enrollment process, including family communication and program
capacity planning. Provide daily operational oversight to ensure
the program continues to run effectively. Ensure staff follow
established policies, health and safety practices, and licensing
requirements. Cooperate in conducting safety inspections and safety
drill practice activities. Coordinate transportation, cafeteria,
and other support services for the early childhood program. Support
classrooms and staff to ensure children are supervised
appropriately and learning environments remain safe and
developmentally appropriate. Encourage and support the development
of innovative early childhood instructional programs, helping
teachers pilot such efforts when appropriate. Provide appropriate
time, resources, and materials to support staff in accomplishing
educational goals. Promote a positive and caring climate for
learning. Plan and coordinate program activities and events for the
Child Development Center. Assist in working with department heads
and faculty in compiling annual budget requests based upon
documented program needs. Assist in the requisition of materials
for the early childhood program; conduct inventories; maintain
records; and verify receipt of instructional materials. Maintain
professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and
community members. Use effective communication skills to present
information accurately and clearly. Participate in collaborative
processes to develop program improvement plans with parents, staff,
and community members. Present for students a positive role model
that supports the mission of the school district. Maintain regular
attendance and report to work at the designated site according to
the established work schedule. Demonstrate interest and initiative
in professional growth and improvement. Demonstrate behavior that
is professional, ethical, and responsible. Perform other duties and
responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor. SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise assigned Child Development Center
staff. WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands: Ability to communicate
(verbal and written); ability to instruct; ability to interpret
policy and procedures; ability to maintain emotional control under
stress Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Work inside and
outside; prolonged standing and walking; lifting and carrying;
in-district travel as assigned and occasional out-of-district
