Parks & Facilities Supervisor -

Our client is seeking to hire an experienced professional to join our team full-time as Parks & Facilities Supervisor for a department of approximately ten full-time employees. This position reports to the Parks & Recreation Manager and offers a competitive salary and a great benefits package, which includes paid holidays, accrued paid leave and a retirement plan with employer match.Duties and Responsibilities:Supervise the Parks & Facilities Department and personnel, perform biweekly payroll processing, utilize computerized work order management system, conduct performance evaluations, conduct meetings, and plan, schedule, assign and supervise projectsConduct and document monthly safety training meetingsMotivate, support and train department personnelImplement quality assurance procedures for efficient personnel utilization and servicesCoordinate outside contractors and manage their projectsPrepare and oversee departmental and project budgets; review/approve daily and weekly department expendituresPrepare monthly reportsProvide coordination for various District eventsAttend Committee, contractor, and management meetings as required to report on activities and provide inputAnalyze and troubleshoot situations, identify problems, and recommend and/or implement solutionsNight and week-end on-call rotationQualifications:Associates Degree or Degree from vocational/technical school preferred; High school diploma requiredRelated professional certifications preferred (e.g. Arborist, Master Gardener, CPSI)5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience with a large maintenance/construction type work groupProficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft OutlookComputerized work order/preventive maintenance system experienceStrong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, security, etc.)Experience with department budgeting, performance management, project management and project planningStrong written, verbal communication, organization and interpersonal skillsProven skills in any of the following is highly desired: irrigation, masonry, electrical, auto mechanics, landscaping, urban forest management, trail construction and repair, general construction, welding and fabrication, and plumbingValid driver's licenseMust pass a drug screen and background screening, including previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving recordMust have the ability to read, write, and fluently speak English; Bilingual desired (English and Spanish)Compensation:Exempt / Salaried / DOEHours:Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm--Hours may fluctuate based on project and departmental needs and may include evenings, holidays and weekends as needed.Please email cover letter and resume to email@example.comJB.0.00.LN
