Overview









PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Construction Executive serves as the on-site Gilbane Development Company person responsible for supporting the overall direction, completion and financial outcome of multifamily or mixed-use project(s); works with the Design Team and the General Contractor to drive overall design, scheduling, cost, cash flow, etc. This position will be based on site in Austin, TX; with additional potential for projects in FL and AZ.













Responsibilities

• Act as on site Owner's representative, ensuring all Owner's project goals are attained
• Maintain a presence on the job site and provide leadership in motivating the General Contractor's project team
• Manage the Owner's portions of the project using established project controls and procedures, including bidding and contracting for owner scope of work
• Perform constructability and coordination reviews
• Communicate with General Contractor related to project risk, timetables, costs/budgets, and change management
• Perform pre-construction planning, scheduling and cost control
• Work with the General Contractor to assist with their buy-out of job and value engineering to ensure overall project budget is maintained
• Prepare monthly reports including cost, schedule, safety, cash flow, etc. for internal and/or external use
• Provide jobsite leadership in the area of safety and quality
• Prepare contingency plans for potential risks, expanding contractual services and project profit
• Capable of working with local municipalities and Design Team on revisions or corrections during construction
• Review, coordinate, and approve monthly pay app requests with internal finance department and/or lender
• Collaborate with the development staff during the due diligence
• Co-lead the design phases of a project, with collaboration from the development staff, to ensure constructability and cost control
• Lead the Value Engineering phase of the design process by working with 3rd party GC, design professionals, and in house development staff
• Ability to grow and manage a team of construction mangers in key markets throughout the South, Southeast, and Mountain West states

  EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
  BS OR MS degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management10+ years of Construction Management experience on multi-family projects, including wood frame as well as various type 1 constructionOr equivalent combination of education and experienceProject Design and Permitting experience preferredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong technical and communication skills are criticalAbility to work in a team environmentKnowledge of Prolog, Microsoft Office (preferred)
