Position Overview

The Systems Security Analyst will be responsible for day-to-day security threat monitoring, analysis and remediation from client security to enterprise servers, operating systems, applications, networks and infrastructure technology. This position also actively participates in the maintenance and development of the Information Security Standard Program.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review servers, systems, storage, datacenter infrastructure and processes to protect client, employee and firm information.
  • Investigate and remediate threats. Respond promptly to security incidents, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Assist in supporting the log collection, security scanning, intrusion detection, content filtering and other security related systems.
  • Perform system upgrades to address issues and vulnerabilities in critical systems. Review and triage information security alerts, provide analysis, determine and track remediation, and escalate as appropriate.
  • Provide technical support for systems, including Tessian, SentinelOne, Windows Servers and others as assigned.
  • Participate with IT Security management on developing, implementing and managing security controls and defenses related to the execution for the Information Security Standard Program, including Intrusion Detection, Threat Protection, Log Monitoring, Vulnerability Assessment, and Information Security Process & Reporting.
  • Partner with Infrastructure management and other stakeholders to improve security procedures, develop and deploying automated IT processes, and increasing the security of existing systems.
  • Participate in security, projects and change management meetings.
  • Provide installation, maintenance, upgrades and trouble-shooting of security applications, and appliances across all functional departments. Secondary
    • Take on additional tasks as defined by the Systems Development Manager, Network Manager and Director of IT Infrastructure, including taking part in the after-hours remediation tasks. Working Conditions
      • Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.
      • Long hours are required periodically. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Assurance, Information Security, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GCIH, GCIA, GPEN preferred.

        Experience: Two years of security analyst experience within a complex operational and development environment.

        Special Knowledge: Strong knowledge of current security threats, techniques, and landscape, as well as a dedicated and self-driven desire to research current information security landscape. Strong knowledge of Incident Analysis and Response concepts and techniques, including incident tracking process, root cause, lessons learned and process improvements.

        Technical Skills: Deep understanding of server operating systems and architecture, network protocols, and vulnerability scanning. Strong basic proficiency in IT. Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Powershell, and information security tools.

        Attributes: Strong writing and documentation skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to research, develop, and keep abreast of tools, techniques, and process improvements in support of security detection and analysis in accordance with current and emerging threat and attack vectors.

        Qualifications: Strong understanding of internal control concepts and policies with focus on improving process/procedure manuals and documentation. Desire to learn and grow in the technology and information security field.
