7:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, but may vary depending on

basis for any employer without sponsorship.PurposeThe AV Systems
and Facility Support Technician will be responsible for full event
support and customer service at the Thompson Conference Center
(TCC). We are a small, lively, cross-trained team who gives our
Academic, Government and Non-Profit Clients the best possible
experience for their event(s). We will work hard together and have
some fun in a creative environment. This multi-faceted position
will require technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and
effective communication and customer service skills to support the
needs of TCC.Responsibilities
- Provide customer service, assisting clients' general needs
during events. Set up audiovisual equipment and computers. Support
clients' use of audiovisual equipment while providing engaged
customer service. Manage and prioritize multiple concerns
simultaneously. Communicate with multiple stakeholders in an
engaging and professional manner in a fast-paced environment. Act
as liaison between the AVFacilities & Operations Manager, AV &
Events Team Supervisor, the TCC Conference Office, and TCC
clients.
- Read, interpret, and complete tasks outlined in Daily Set-up
Sheets, ensuring room setups are complete down to each detail.
Complete shift documentation. Maintain consistent communication
with team members through multiple channels. Complete assigned
special projects promptly while fulfilling reoccurring shift
duties. Communicate progress and status of room setups and special
projects to the AV Facilities & Operations Manager.
- Maintain knowledge of Zoom/TEAMS, keep up with software
changes, and train staff on changes. Provide virtual event support
by hosting online events using different meeting platforms. Support
clients' virtual events online as an AV Tech. Maintain knowledge of
video editing on Adobe Premier. Demonstrate appropriate levels of
proficiency with utilized software and systems, and learn new
software/systems as needed. Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Identify, track, and resolve audiovisual equipment issues.
Suggest troubleshooting and repairs for various kinds of
audiovisual equipment, consisting of but not limited to: laptops,
projectors, microphones, mini-mixers, and cabling. Demonstrate
familiarity with best practices associated with technology set up
and breakdown, cable management, and equipment organization.
Communicate AV issues and repair needs to AV Facilities &
Operations Manager and AV & Events Team Supervisor.
- Assist with general facility maintenance and custodial
services, including vacuuming, cleaning rooms and patios, trash
removal, and monitoring parking lot(s).
- Work with manager and supervisor to maintain and track
equipment inventory, helping to complete the monthly supply order.
Facilitate special projects. Complete daily equipment checks.
Assign and tidy AV closets, ensuring equipment is returned.
- Attend at least one weekly staff meeting prepared to
communicate and contribute towards the review and planning of
conference events, with the possibility of more meetings as
necessary.Required QualificationsAssociates or Vocational degree.
One year of experience working in events. Working knowledge of
computers and audiovisual equipment. Demonstrated proficiency with
utilized software and systems and in the ability to learn new
systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to facilitate event and audiovisual
set up and support and repair and maintenance of audiovisual
equipment by a deadline. Ability to respond quickly and
professionally to changing circumstances. Ability to manage and
prioritize multiple concerns and projects simultaneously.
Experience providing customer service to a diverse clientele with
varied event requirements. Ability to troubleshoot and anticipate
issues as they arise. Demonstrated ability to work effectively
within a team environment and maintain a positive attitude in the
face of adversity. Ability to work independently. Excellent
interpersonal skills.Relevant education and experience may be
substituted as appropriate.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's
Degree. Experience working events in an academic setting. Expertise
in audiovisual equipment knowledge. Experience with videography and
editing audio and video files in Adobe Premier. Extensive previous
experience in events, customer service and/or hospitality.Salary
Range$40,000 + depending on qualificationsWorking Conditions
