Job Description:
Summary: The Credit Analyst is responsible for credit analysis
and review of new and existing lines of credit. Primary
Responsibilities:Analyze credit information for use by lending
officers or committees in making lending decisions on new, renewal
and extension loans:Review all pertinent credit and financial
information, including reporting services, credit bureaus, savings
and loan associations or banks, and bank files.Determine the need
for more thorough investigation or additional information, and
contact appropriate sources for such information.Prepare all
spreadsheet and financial information.Analyze financial statements
and related material.Prepare summary, present facts, and offer
opinions concerning creditworthiness to loan officers or
committees.Ensure that financial statements for loans are monitored
where it is required by policy. Maintain current financial
information (less than one year old) in loan file. Mail request
letters and conduct phone calls if necessary.Perform annual loan
reviews on larger lines. Note and document trends in borrower's
financial statements. Perform related duties as
assigned.Competency:The competency of the individual in a Credit
Analyst position will be evaluated on an on-going basis by the
Credit Administration Manager. Competency will also be measured by
the results of the examinations of the FDIC and the Texas
Department of Banking, the bank's accounting firm, the bank's
internal auditing firm, and the bank's loan review
firm.Qualifications:To perform the Credit Analyst job successfully,

Degree in Business and Basic Accounting Skills preferred; or one to
three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Language and Communication
Ability:The individual must have the ability to read, analyze, and
interpret technical journals and literature, laws and regulations
and legal documents. The individual must have the ability to
respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies,
members of the community, shareholders, and others. The individual
must have the ability to effectively communicate in writing to many
audiences, including shareholders, board of directors, customers,
and others and must have the ability to prepare and deliver
speeches.Reasoning Ability:The individual must have the ability to
define problems, solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and
draw valid conclusions. The individual must have the ability to
interpret technical instructions and to deal with abstract and
concrete issues.Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully,
an individual must possess knowledge of word processing software,
spread sheet software, internet software, and contact management
systems.Work Environment:The work environment characteristics
described herein are representative of those an employee encounters
while performing the essential duties of this job. The noise level
in the work environment is usually moderate or less.Physical
Demands:The physical demands described herein are representative of
those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
essential duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift
and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up
to twenty five pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and
hear.
