Job Description Summary:
The Strategic Business Architect will join the Global Revenue Operations team and support PayPal's continued growth and ongoing development of our global revenue organization by leading efforts to align business capabilities and product value delivery. Our focus is to invest in understanding, defining, and influencing the overall activities, decisions, stakeholders, and internal processes that lead to what equips our Revenue organization with an efficient, effective, and well-integrated ecosystem of tools, processes, and systems.

As a Strategic Business Architect, you'll lead interviews and workshops to analyze the current business and operating models, define current and future business capabilities or changes in how key elements of the business work together to deliver strategic value, and ensure the interconnections between the business processes, technology, data, and people work together to drive business performance throughout the enterprise. This is an environment with complex business issues that are not always clearly defined, and the path to a solution often involves additional challenges and competing priorities. The right candidate will possess creative problem-solving skills, be a self-starter, and be comfortable navigating ambiguity.

Job Description:

Main Responsibilities

As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.

  • Partner with business leaders and IT to identify and agree on priorities to support business objectives and maximize the value of technology investments
  • Contribute to the development of a strategic plan or north star to influence roadmaps, resource plans, and ongoing work

    • Own definition, completion, and maintenance of end-to-end capability documentation across the Revenue lifecycle in partnership with functional leads & users
    • Develop a repeatable and consistent process to identify, evaluate and align the right technology investments for the Global Sales organization
    • Develop governance artifacts and processes that drive clarity on how applications should be supported, deployed, owned, resourced, and governed ongoing
    • Participate in documentation standardization strategies, particularly related to how system evaluation, design, and management lead to quality data & processes
    • Participate in tool evaluations to guide the evaluation process, coordinate governance or critical decisions, and assist with quality discovery, analysis, and requirements

      • Participate in market research to think innovatively about how technology can lead to operational excellence, scale, and field & customer experiences tied to needs

        Target Skills/Experience

        • 7 + years of working experience with at least 3 + years experience as a Product Manager or Owner
        • Experience working within Sales Operations including knowledge of the Salesforce platform preferred
        • Proven ability t o think about business processes outside of the technology context

          • Ability to effectively develop presentations, value stream maps, business capability maps, organizational graphs, and business strategy framework diagrams to present ideas and proposals to all levels of management and technical expertise
          • Experience and best practice with elevating the role of users and feedback loops into technology management practices & cross-functional operating environments
          • Strong verbal, visual, and written communication skills, including excellence in analytical and collaborative discovery and design discussion.
          • Agile development practices
          • Exceptional problem-solving skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems and develop solutions

            • Effective at building consensus and influencing others by building trust-based relationships
