SUMMARY: Responsible for direct customer interactions, new sales and upselling efforts through collaboration with sales personnel, call center personnel and management. Manage personally assigned vehicle inventory, maintenance and reports. Work closely with the Operations Manager to promote outstanding customer service, technician training, safety compliance and job assignments for assigned technicians. Provide oversight, mentorship and training to technicians. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: --- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill level of personnel. --- Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment and provide employee safety training to prevent, detect, and correct unsafe conditions or violations of procedures and safety rules. --- Guide, direct and motivate subordinates through setting and communicating performance standards and enforcement of established policies and procedures.--- Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings. --- Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance. --- Requisition materials and supplies, tools, equipment and replacement parts. --- Inspect, test, and measure completed work, using devices such as hand tools or gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements. --- Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair, or maintenance techniques, operational procedures and equipment use. --- Implement and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures and ensure compliance. --- Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor and outside contractors for bid approvals. --- Examine objects, systems and facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services and repairs. --- Confer with technicians, management and customers to coordinate work activities, resolve employee grievances and identify and review resource needs. --- Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shop to ensure efficient and effective work conditions, security and accountability. --- Perform skilled repair or maintenance operations using equipment such as hand or power tools, hydraulic presses or shears and welding equipment. --- Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders to construct templates and lay out reference points for workers. --- Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies in coordination with HR when necessary. --- Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges or disciplinary measures in coordination with management and HR. --- Review, evaluate, accept, and coordinate completion of work bid from contractors. --- Compile operational and personnel records such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics and test results. --- Utilize electronic maintenance programs or computer information management systems. --- Meet with vendors and suppliers to discuss products used in repair work, tools and supply inventory management. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience: - Minimum of 10 years' experience in the plumbing trade as a licensed technician. - Minimum of 5 years of verifiable supervisory experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: - Journeyman or Master Plumber License Required. Physical Requirements: The physical requirements for this job are diverse and will vary significantly from day to day. The incumbent may be required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on occasion.
WORK HOURS:Generally an 8 hour workday which may begin at 7:00 or 8:00 am and ends approximately 4:00 or 5:00 pm. Overtime as required in order to complete all assigned tasks of this position. SUPERVISION:Indirect supervision of up to 5 technicians. COMPENSATION:This is a full-time non-exempt position that is eligible for overtime.
