This role would be to learn the department operation and processes in a fast-paced catastrophe environment while training to become a successful Claims Examiner and providing essential property insurance products and services for eligible Texas policyholders when no one else will. What are we looking for in a Claims Examiner Trainee? We are seeking qualified and talented applicants for an Entry-Level position within our Claims Examiner Training Program. The Claims Examiner Trainee will acquire basic understanding of insurance principles, claims investigation, damage evaluation, and resolution of property claims. The training will emphasize the importance of customer service and creating a positive customer experience. What does the Training Program look like? ---Participate in orientations, property workshops, and field trips ---Obtain an adjuster's license required by the state of Texas within six weeks of employment ---Successfully complete a Bisys Property and Casualty Principles course within six weeks of employment (online through WebCE) ---Participate in training sessions consisting of self-study, classroom, and field-based activities ---Demonstrate basic proficiency in general insurance principles, basic investigation, policy interpretation, basic residential construction techniques, and verbal and written communication skills ---Develop and demonstrate effective organization and time management skills ---Become a successful Claims Examiner and build a career in property and casualty insurance What will you do? ---Meet Association standards for performance, attendance and behavior ---Complete the training program ---Receive a passing grade for state licensing exam ---Reflect a customer-centric attitude Required Education and Experience: ---Bachelor's Degree ---0-3 years of work experience Preferred Education and Experience: ---Bilingual; English and preferably Spanish and/or Asian Languages (such as Mandarin, Vietnamese, etc.) You need to be able to do the following: ---Working a schedule of Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm onsite is required. ---This position requires the ability to sit, hear, converse over the telephone, and key frequently on a computer for long periods of time. ---This position may require some limited overnight travel to complete training programs, activities, and meetings. ---This position may require overnight travel and remote work outside the office as part of our companywide efforts to respond to high claim volume caused by catastrophic storm events.
