without sponsorship.PurposeTo provide academic advising to students
in the Center for Entry-Level Advising (CELA). To facilitate
multiple sections of small learning communities and/or support
programmatic initiatives. Provide accurate and timely information
on course and degree. Ensure the priorities of the College and
Undergraduate Education are incorporated into all aspects of the
position, including student-centeredness.Responsibilities
- Provide academic advising for students individually and in
groups.
- Assist with and/or lead CELA/CNS/UT Austin projects and special
student initiatives, attend meetings and events, serve on
committees as assigned. Complete trainings over various topics (ex.
Professional Development). Serve as a point person for major(s)
advised for our office - may include communication with other
advising centers.
- Facilitate multiple sections of FIG and CNS Cornerstone small
community cohorts.
- Present academic oriented material through workshops and new
student orientation.
- Other duties as assigned, including supporting special projects
and staffing events within CNS.Required QualificationsBachelor's
Degree and experience working with student populations.Relevant
education and experience may be substituted as
appropriate.Preferred QualificationsOne or more years of experience
working with students in an academic capacity. Knowledge of the
College of Natural Sciences. Knowledge of college campus resources.
Excellent written and verbal skills. Knowledge of Advisor Toolkit,
UT Mainframe, and Excel.Salary Range$40,000Working Conditions

workstation
