The user experience team is passionate about the quality,
usability, and simplicity of the experiences we build. Individuals
in these roles gather these key user insights, and then use them to
encourage and inform product strategy and design solutions. We
partner closely with each other, engineering, and product
management to build innovative, usable, great-looking products.
We're looking for a Sr User Researcher to join the UX Team in
Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) to help support CBRE as we work to
expand our internal and client-facing (web and mobile) applications
across the globe. As a senior team member, your primary
responsibilities are to strategize, test, advocate for, and deliver
compelling user experiences for new and existing UX. In this role,
you understand our business requirements and any technical
limitations and focus on delivering business-minded solutions. This
role collaborates multi-functionally to generate ideas and get
feedback on designs and product direction. You'll work with
developers, product managers, UX professionals, and other
multi-functional team members to deliver user-centered products.
The ideal candidate will have experience taking ownership of the
user research process and how it integrates into the larger product
team. This person will join an agile team, influence technology
decisions across the organization, and help deliver solutions to
world-class, global platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Sr User Experience Researcher, you will be responsible for
designing and driving research using various qualitative and
quantitative methods that address business questions and further
understanding of our customers and end-users.
Leads and drives coordinated efforts with product management and
engineering to help define and implement innovative solutions for
the product direction, visuals and experience.
Presents research findings to internal teams and business
partners.
Leverages expert understanding of ongoing and future workstreams,
ensuring consistent experiences across multiple features to align
directly with business requirements.
Working end-to-end in all aspects of user research (design,
recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting)
Working closely with multi-functional teams to help them identify
and prioritize their research needs
Conduct usability testing of tools, apps, and other
experiences.
Occasionally running interviews remotely with Asian Pacific
countries (English language).
Translating research findings and business/user needs into insights
for product and UX teams
Actively monitoring and analyzing research, data, and trends from
internal sources, academic research, and industry-published reports
to inform and improve our product and research methods
Presenting and communicating research clearly and optimally across
various partner groups
Crafting collaborator/client products such as research summary
reports, presentations, and visual maps (e.g. journeys, workflow
diagrams, affinity diagrams)
Running sessions and workshops to gather, synthesize, and analyze
group (e.g. affinity mapping session to gather UX team input on
user interview sessions)
Be a user-centered design enthusiast within our organization
Mentor more junior researchers on the fine points of methodology &
advocacy. Provides mentorship to junior members on the team at the
task-level (i.e. approach, completing, and delivering of assigned
work).
Participates in the broader community of practice via conference
presentations and/or publishing UX-related articles.
Responsibilities may include duties centered around the ability to
plan, conduct, and draw practical conclusions from research. You
are encouraged to develop and own research projects and be able to
analyze and use data to move this business forward. Seeks
opportunities to conduct generative research early in the design
process to gain insight into user needs and difficulties
Supervisory Responsibilities
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides
informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to
coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan and supervise
assignments of lower-level employees. May supervise junior team
members and/or intern, but not required.
Qualifications

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four year college or
university in Visual Communications, Marketing, Industrial Design,
Human Computer Interaction/Human Factors, Psychology, Art, Software
Engineering or related degree, plus a minimum of 6+ years related
work experience; or equivalent combination of education and
experience (equivalent work experience = 2 years' experience for
every year of higher level education). Master's degree or Ph.D. in
Human Computer Interaction or a related field is preferred.
Portfolio with a collection of sample projects that detail the
research process from start to finish. These projects must
highlight both qualitative & quantitative methods, and generative
and evaluative research.
Communication Skills
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most elaborate
business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most
critical issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches, and
articles using a distinctive style. Ability to make effective and
persuasive presentations on complex topics to internal and external
audiences.
Reasoning ability
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of options in
complex situations. Draws upon the analysis of other researchers
and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in
situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Proficiency in relaying user research methods, creating reports and
presentations to illustrate insights, and facilitating
research-related activities (including recruiting users).
Proficiency in industry-standard user research tools. Advanced
proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (PowerPoint,
Excel, Teams, SharePoint)
CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine
compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and
experience. The minimum salary for the position is $135,000
annually and the maximum salary for the position is $150,000
annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful
candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications,
and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a
discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
