Specific Job Duties

Metrology is a great place to work in a friendly environment. You will have a chance to work on material from all other departments of the FAB since Metrology supports all unit parts and other groups (PIE, Device team, QA, FA, and MFG). Metrology is to provide support to the fab with accurate and precise measurement data. Since the nature of metrology work depends heavily on every aspect (equipment, process, applications, etc.), good teamwork and communication skills are required to be successful.

This open position is for a Metro Inspection Applications Engineer, specifically focusing on sustaining, troubleshooting/resolving issues daily in a factory environment, providing strong customer service to internal and external customers, decision making, daily tool health and monitoring, automating routine tasks, improving BKMs (best known methods) and recipe setup for new & old devices.

The Metrology team provides most of the unit part's (UP) tool baseline in addition to device performance and quality monitoring, so your contribution will be counted on at every step.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Defect recipe developer for ebeam/optical inspection tool application set.
  • Engineering Recipe Setup and report for various inspection.
  • Work with inspection applications and DE engineer team for defect trending and quality improvement projects.
  • Work with recipes development and optimization for both lines S2 and S6 (Austin and Taylor)
  • Technical presentations for information sharing and cultivation.
  • Interface with YDD, PIE, FA and manufacturing and other unit part engineering departments for metrology related items, Documentation of work details.
  • Maintain tool-to-tool matching (TTTM) in spec and changing point management CPM).
  • Daily monitoring of key metrics daily quals and product trend and respond to SPC, PCM, and ALPS to prevent excursions.
  • Troubleshooting recipe/tool related issues with equipment team to isolate root causes lead to solution.
  • Recipe setup for new devices using the Metrology Guide and auditing to ensure matching to process flow, latest BKM and golden parameters.
  • Work with equipment engineers and technicians to isolate equipment issues, and to work with vendors to improve equipment performance. Able to understand and monitor tool health in assigned area.
  • Troubleshoot daily customer (UP/PIE) issues and provide reports with detail analysis
  • Recipe setup for new devices using the Metrology Guide and auditing to ensure matching to process flow.
  • Troubleshooting Automation, Data collection, and lot track-out issues.
  • Work with multiple metrology engineers on multiple cross projects
  • Analyze SPC failure and ALPS Release.
  • Worked on advanced assignments with minimal to no supervision
  • Provides guidance to non-exempt and exempt personnel. Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
    • Minimum Four-Year Bachelor's degree in related field (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry).
    • 2+ year experience in semiconductor preferred.
    • 2+ year experience with defect inspection tool set a plus, especially HMI and KLA PUMA series tools set
    • Experience KLA inspection technology and review Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools: List MOST important requirements first. Then, list soft skills desired (but not required), experience:
      • Strong problem solving skills
      • Strong attention to detail
      • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point
      • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
      • Able to prioritize large workloads on a daily basis ( Multitasking)
      • Self-starter with a continuous improvement attitude
      • Ability to deal with ambiguity
      • Familiarity with some computer programming (Java, C++, Python, Visual Basic, MATLAB etc.) preferred
