Purpose
Reporting to the Director of Application Development, Advancement
Data Operations, the Senior Salesforce Solution Architect will play
a lead role in the implementation and ongoing support of our new
and evolving Salesforce-based advancement CRM. This role will draw
on deep technical and product knowledge to serve as a trusted
advisor to guide the design and development of native Salesforce
configuration, customization, application development, and
integrations.

About Advancement Data Operations
In January 2023, Advancement Data Operations will be kicking off
the implementation of our new Salesforce-based advancement CRM.
During this implementation, the Application Development team will
be driving the configuration and customization of our new CRM in
addition to owning the development of over sixty integrations.
Additionally, the team will continue to steward our custom
applications, are built against Oracle and ADABAS data stores,
Python/Django or Natural backends, and various front-end frameworks
including React, Angular, and Python/Django. We also use several
third-party tools, including RabbitMQ, Splunk, MuleSoft, Elastic,
Netlify, Jenkins, and Stonebranch.

Responsibilities
* In collaboration with our implementation partner, define the
platform architecture vision for the new CRM and serve as the
technical authority for platform, security, integration, data
migration, and improvements for system documentation and other
solution components.
* Assess and provide recommendations for future-facing solutions -
both vendor-provided and custom developed - as part of ADO's
mission to provide best in class advancement services for standards
and process improvements for developers, app builders, and
administrators.
* Monitor Salesforce releases to ensure our enterprise Salesforce
org is taking advantage of the latest enhancements, updates and
integrations.

Required Qualifications
* Salesforce Certified Advanced Administrator Certification.
* 4+ years of experience with Salesforce in a development or
configuration and integration capacity.
* At least one year as a Technical Architect or Solution Architect
role.
* Expert level understanding of the core Salesforce platform (Sales
Cloud, Service Cloud, Community Cloud) with functional knowledge of
the entire product suite, including Marketing Cloud, Integration
Cloud, and App Cloud.
* Knowledge of data integration tools and experience integrating
Salesforce with different business systems (ETL, CPQ, marketing
automation, reporting, etc.).
* Ability to provide coaching, technical mentoring, guidance, and
feedback to peers and junior teammates and communicate complex
technical solutions to non-technical team members and customers
with the ability to effectively work well with others, fostering a
great, collaborative, and fun environment, even amidst technical
challenges.
* Relevant education and experience may be substituted as
appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
* One or more of the following additional certifications
(Salesforce Certified Technical Architect, Salesforce Certified
Platform Developer I/II, Salesforce Certified Application
Architect).
* 2+ years developing and implementing data migrations, creating
the technical architecture for sophisticated Salesforce
implementations.
* Experience working with advancement-focused Salesforce vendors
(Affinaquest, UC Innovation, etc.), integrating Salesforce with
mainframe-based legacy systems, Mulesoft, ExpePython or another
object-oriented programming language.
* Experience with Web Services development or experience with the
Salesforce API (REST/SOAP/Bulk, etc.)
* Experience integrating Salesforce with third party solutions.
* Hands-on Apex development experience a plus.
* Experience with Visualforce, JavaScript, HTML, and/or CSS
development experience.
* Knowledge of Salesforce platform constraints, including API
limitations and governor limits.
* Knowledge of PCI DSS and HIPAA compliance standards and best
practices.
* Familiarity with fundraising and development terminology and
related business processes.
* Bachelor's degree or higher.
* Desire to learn new tools and technologies.

Salary Range
$120,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
Hybrid/Flexible working environment. Work performed on concurrent
multiple projects under pressure of rigid deadlines and/or time
limitations. May require occasional extended work hours or on-call
obligation.
