Job Description:
Primary Objective:
This position works in partnership with the Institute Director, and
provides leadership and coaching support to the Cosmetology
Educators to ensure a well-trained, empowered and motivated
Educator team that is scheduled to effectively create first choice
professionals for market leading salons, who upon graduation, will
demonstrate their ability to create guest experiences and provide
services that meet or exceed Aveda Institute standards in technical
skill accomplishment, guest service delivery, professional
behaviors and achievement of productivity benchmarks.
Responsibilities:

Finalize and implement orientation plans for every new educator,
act as their coach and Buddy, making any necessary adjustments in a
timely manner.

Review educator performance on a regular basis, and coach to
enhance performance and professional development.

In partnership with the Director, create an effective educator
schedule to meet the needs of the current student enrollment, and
manage absenteeism to ensure classes are appropriately covered at
all times.

When required, teach classes in accordance with the Position
Description for Cosmetology Educator.

In partnership with the Director, forecast student enrollment and
flow, and plan hiring and training accordingly.

Monitor clinic/classroom standards to ensure Aveda standards
achieved at all times.

Coach educator team to meet Aveda Benchmarks, utilizing the Aveda
teaching methods.

Partner with Institute Director to deliver annual reviews and
deliver any performance enhancement coaching for educators.

Provide on-going recognition, support, and motivation for Education
team.

Facilitate weekly educator meetings, and ensure training is a key
component.

Track student progress through the curriculum, and mobilize the
resources necessary to address any challenges.

Collaborate with other institute departments as needed to
facilitate the retention of students.

Coach educators regarding any highly challenging student
situations.

Ensure compliance with Aveda Institute policies and procedures, and
educate where appropriate.

Monitor back bar use and educational supplies, and ensure usage is
within budget.

Minimum Requirements:
-
5+ years behind the chair.
-
Cosmetology License and in states where applicable, Cosmetology
Educator License.

Passionate about learning and teaching.
-
Highly developed presentation & communications skills.
-
Passion for Aveda's mission.
-
Experience in training and coaching preferred.
-
Flexible to work evenings and weekends.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
There are no direct supervisory responsibilities for this position.
This role does co-partner with the Director in the delivery of
performance-related conversations with education team members.
