We are looking for a dedicated Ethics and Compliance Coordinator like you to be a part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsThe Ethics and Compliance Patient Advocacy coordinator is responsible for effective implementation and leadership of ethics and compliance at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. Provides advice and acts as a liaison to facility ECOs and division leadership on ethics and compliance concerns. Assist with interpreting and applying the Code of Conduct (Code), Ethics and Compliance Policies and Procedures (E&C Policies) and other communication. Conduct investigations resulting from Ethics Line calls as assigned and assist facility ECOs in conducting investigations. This role will also serve as an advocate for patients and/or family members with complaints/grievance concerns regarding medical care and services provided. Documents concerns, tracks/trends and investigates aspects of patient encounters to facilitate the resolution of concerns and maximize patient and family satisfaction.
    • Provide leadership for the E&C Program at St. David's South Austin Medical Center
    • Understand the Code of Conduct and E&C Policies.
    • Actively participate in facility medication diversion team meetings.
    • Provide support and guidance to facility ethics and compliance officer.
    • Develop and implement a system to inform facility ethics and compliance officer of the status of ethics and compliance issues at the facility.
    • Develop and implement a system to ensure timely distribution, approval and implementation of E&C Policies.
    • Actively participates in the facilities leadership teams to assess implementation of the E&C Program and provide guidance, as appropriate, to facility ECOs to improve the effectiveness of their programs.
    • Leads facility Ethics and Compliance Committee (FECC) meetings
    • Conduct ECO Rounds in accordance with Corporate Ethics & Compliance best practices.
    • Provide input and feedback regarding policies and procedures, as requested by the Corporate Ethics and Compliance Department (E&C Department).
    • Communicate E&C issues to executive leaders at each facility to encourage their involvement and support.
    • Work collaboratively with ECOs from Parallon Business units, including Shared Services, Supply Chain, Workforce Management Solutions, and Division IT&S, HCA physician services.
    • Be aware of new initiatives within the facility and provide guidance where necessary (e.g., transfer centers, call centers, scheduling centers).
    • This individual will also be responsible for working hand in hand with the facilities senior leaders in developing the future strategy and prioritization of compliance initiatives.
    • Investigates, evaluates and conducts follow-up of patient concerns to determine appropriate resolution.


      What qualifications you will need:
      • Associates Degree
      • Bachelor's Degree preferred
      • Minimum of 1 year experience in healthcare compliance
