We set expectations clearly and hold ourselves accountable to what we commit.About The Team:Auctane's Finance & Accounting team is responsible for reporting accurate financial reporting to the public and investors, as well as driving strategic and financial decision-making processes across the Company. We partner with Senior Management and business unit leaders to analyze and drive long-term business performance.About The Role:The Supervisor, Accounting will play an integral role to ensure that Auctane's financial information is complete, accurate, and appropriately facilitates decision-making. The role will be responsible for ensuring financial information is maintained in a way that facilitates smooth reviews and audit processes to meet various internal and/or regulatory requirements such as GAAP, SEC, and Sarbanes-Oxley. The Supervisor, Accounting will help develop junior team members, maintain detailed review of reconciliations, establish new and improve existing processes, analyze financial statements and explain variances, along with other general accounting and reporting functions as required. This role will report to a Director, Accounting.This is a compelling opportunity to assume supervisory accounting responsibilities in a wide range of areas and gain valuable experience with a Company in the Internet space that was acquired by private equity firm Thoma Bravo for $6.6 billion in 2021.Primary Objectives:Ensure accounting records are accurate and complete on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Prepare internal, external, and regulatory reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, or as required.Facilitate successful external review and audit processes to meet various regulatory requirements (e.g. GAAP, SEC, SOX).Coach and guide junior accounting team members and manage third-party resources, and prepare for direct people management responsibilities.Research and analyze technical accounting and financial reporting issues, assess impact to organization, formalize positions and recommendations, write memos, and ensure reporting compliance.Special projects, continuous process improvement initiatives, and other related duties as assigned.Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.What You'll Be Doing: Ensure accounting records are accurate and complete on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basisStreamline, develop, and optimize close processes, reporting requirements, and general ledger setup.Manage and/or execute recurring accounting processes. Review work performed by other accountants/accounting teams and manage the timeliness of month-end close.Work closely with various departments to gather and analyze data used for the preparation of journal entries.Monitor and address treasury needs (e.g. bank balances, bill payments, etc.).Train, develop, and mentor junior team members and/or third-party resources.Analyze account balances at month-end and facilitate communication to management and other accounting team members, as necessary, and ensure resolution of issues.Ensure accounting policies and activities across different entities/brands align with corporate policies where appropriate.Prepare internal, external, and regulatory reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, or as requiredCompile analysis/reports for the quarterly reviews, annual audits, or other requirements. Preparation and/or review of financial statements, footnote disclosures, management discussion and analysis, and other internal and external reporting requirements. Prepare reports for executive leadership to help make business decisions.Facilitate successful external review and audit processes to meet various regulatory requirements (e.g. GAAP, SEC, SOX).Establish and coordinate the implementation of accounting and internal control procedures in accordance with applicable requirements.Maintain records in accordance with Company's internal controls and US GAAP and assemble documentation requested by auditors and other parties.Communicate effectively with Company's auditors and other parties as necessary.Ensure that internal controls over financial reporting are adequately designed, implemented, and operating effectively.Coach and guide junior accounting team members and manage third-party resources, and prepare for direct people management responsibilities. Review work submitted by junior accountants and manage accounting close processes.Coordinate and lead daily, monthly, and quarterly team activitiesResearch and analyze technical accounting and financial reporting issues, assess impact to organization, formalize positions and recommendations, write memos, and ensure reporting compliance. Assist senior management in navigating complex accounting matters by conducting technical research and looking up authoritative guidanceSpecial projects and other related duties as assigned.What We Are Looking For:Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.CPA certification preferred.Five or more (5+) years relevant finance and/or accounting experience post bachelor's degree.Two or more (2+) years of experience in public accounting preferred.E-commerce, SaaS, or technology industry experience a plus.What will Make You Stand Out (if applicable):Collaborative, versatile, candid communicator, good listener with sensitivity to multiple styles and perspectives, who is able to build and foster relationships with cross functional audiences.Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, including facilitation of collaboration among multiple parties.Ability to problem solve.Ability to synthesize and analyze data from multiple sources to facilitate decision-making.Detail oriented and analytical.Knowledge of US GAAP, financial statements, and internal controls.Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements a plus.The Tech:Intermediate proficiency in Excel (e.g. vlookups, pivot tables).Experience with enterprise accounting software (e.g. NetSuite) a plus.Basic SQL or other data analytics expertise a plus.Travel RequirementsInfrequent domestic travel may be requiredAdditional Position Duties: (The following is a list of what all employees, except those with medical accommodation, may be regularly required to do.)
