The Head of Global Total Rewards will sit on the Talent Leadership Team and report directly to our CHRO. The role will act as a strategic partner to YETI's senior leadership team to ensure all compensation (executive and broad-based) and benefits programs align with the strategic goals of the company. This individual will direct the planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and administration of all global compensation and benefits programs that allow us to attract top talent and maintain our competitive position in the marketplace as we expand globally.
This leader thrives on continuous improvement within highly dynamic environments and possesses exceptional attention to detail and customer service skills. Individuals will demonstrate strong executive presence and will interact extensively across our executive team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in compensation program design and governance, with familiarity operating within a global environment and experience working with and presenting to the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors at public companies.
Position Type (See Workplace Approach Below): Hybrid

  • Direct the overall Global Total Rewards function to ensure programs are competitive, balanced and achieve desired behaviors and results that are closely aligned to YETI's business strategies.
  • Manage a team of three compensation and benefits professionals, developing their technical knowledge and building a global center of expertise for YETI.
  • Provide reports, updates and make presentations, as appropriate, to communicate various Total Rewards initiatives to Talent, Senior Leadership, and directly to employees.
  • Design, model and manage long-term and short-term incentive programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the external market. Work directly with the CHRO, CFO, CEO and Compensation Committee on plan designs and influence stakeholders to obtain approvals.
  • While partnering with Talent and Business leadership, validate the effectiveness of plans ensuring market competitiveness, business objectives are achieved, and ability to attract/reward/retain top talent.
  • Ensure Total Rewards programs take into consideration benchmarking of peer company and industry competitors, goal setting and metric development, performance and talent management, and overall reward assessments.
  • Remain current on industry trends, best practices, and compliance that enable YETI to achieve higher levels of organizational excellence.
  • Relentlessly drive operational excellence and innovation in all areas of responsibility.

    Qualifications and Attributes:

    • Bachelor's Degree and at least 12 years of experience in executive compensation, broad-based compensation and benefits programs.
    • At least 8 years of experience leading teams.
    • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future trends/consequences and create innovative strategies.
    • Experience setting up new countries abroad with appropriate pay and benefits programs.
    • Able to evaluate, design and recommend global compensation programs based on market assessments and business strategy.
    • Success in creating and articulating ideas and plans to both executive management and peers in the context of business priorities and needs.
    • Outstanding problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to clearly define problems, collect data (primary and secondary), establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and influence others to implement recommendations.
    • Excellent strategic, analytic, and financial skills. Demonstrate both the art and science of compensation.
    • An action-oriented personality, one who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to get things done, while remaining a collaborative team player.
    • An individual who thrives in fast-paced and ambiguous environments, rapidly shifting priorities to best support their team and the overall business.
    • Comfortable working at both strategic and tactical levels, thinking long term while executing in the weeds if necessary.
    • Executive presence, one who possesses the depth of experience to comfortably interact with senior executives within the company and members of the Board of Directors, while remaining accessible to everyone.
    • A people person who will be viewed as a leader and resource across the company.
    • An enterprise-wide thinker, with a lens on how decisions made within one area may affect others across the business.
    • History of successful interaction and influence with all levels of stakeholders, particularly, the CEO, Compensation Committee chairman and other senior executives.
    • Track record of progressive responsibility managing the compensation function within a complex/matrixed, global public organization.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills including conflict resolution, team management and presentations.

      US Workplace Approach:

      • Onsite: Role requires you to be onsite full-time.
      • Hybrid: Role requires you to be located in Austin, Texas and is a mixture of onsite and remote.
      • Remote: Role is full-time remote.
