match and generous PTO. Position SummaryThe Buyer/Planner I is
responsible for activities related to the planning, purchasing and
management of materials, parts and services in accordance with
company policies.Primary Responsibilities:
- Manages purchase orders and assures on-time delivery of
purchased items.
- Processes purchase requisitions and issues purchase orders, as
required, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and on-time
delivery.
- Analyze demand and develop replenishment plans.
- Maintains purchasing records i.e. purchase orders, quotes,
acknowledgments, NDA's, and supply agreements.
- Maintains ERP data integrity by keeping item, purchase order &
supplier records up to date.
- Submits Requests for Quotes and follows up with suppliers to
obtain pricing and lead-times.
- Creates and maintains production work orders to ensure correct
product flow.
- Coordinates with all departments to manage workflow and
performance to meet delivery requirements
- Follows all purchasing and inventory control procedures
outlined in the quality manual.
- Other duties as needed.Required Work Experience and Technical
Competencies:Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as
a buyer, preferably in a distribution environment. One (1) year of
leadership experience preferred. Required technical competencies
include:
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably QAD
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written,
cross-functionally
- Must possess excellent computer skills including the Microsoft
Suite of products
- Must demonstrate proficient working knowledge of Good Warehouse
procedures and practices and general supply chain processes
- Must exhibit productive work results in all assigned duties
