Our client is a nonprofit utilities company that has pioneered renewable energy with a mission of improving the lives of citizens for nearly a century. Duration: 3+ months


At an intermediate level, develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes. Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data. Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost. Develops metrics and cost-benefit analysis to support proposals. Develops and provide training on process changes. Typically works on processes that affect entire business units or are used company-wide. Processes may include external vendors and customers or other stakeholders. This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higherlevel knowledge and skills. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from supervisor, manager and/or more experienced colleagues.

Researches, evaluates and documents processes and develops recommendations for improvements.

Reviews results of past internal audits and existing internal controls to assure that adequate controls are in place and that trackable metrics are established.

Works with process owners to finalize process improvements and document process changes.

Prepares analysis and develops business cases for process changes or capital projects.

Designs and delivers appropriate communications and training programs to ensure that process improvements take place.

Minimum Qualifications:

Six or more years of experience in process improvement or experience relating to the area of specialization required to perform the job, including one or more years of experience in process improvement. A degree(s) in business, accounting, economics, engineering, project management, information technology or operations management or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of process improvement techniques

Knowledge of information systems used to automate processes

Knowledge of budgeting and cost management

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Skill in analyzing and solving problems

Skill in developing the business case for process changes, including analyzing financial impact

Skill in technical writing

Skill in recommending process improvements that reflect business acumen

Skill in clearly documenting and communicating findings to management and team members

Skill in verbal and written communication, including effectively communicating information to large audiences

Skill in communicating effectively with all levels of the organization, including staff, supervision, management and executives

Skill in developing training materials for process changes

Skill in creating and delivering presentations to gain acceptance from other departments and management

Skill in coordinating process improvements across departments and with external vendors

Skill in establishing concrete, actionable work plans from ambiguous information and directives Skill in facilitation

Skill in change management and leadership

Skill in negotiation and influencing others

Skill in effectively resolving conflicts

Intermediate skill level in visio to document and map processes

Intermediate skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)

Ability to build relationships and foster teamwork

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to balance competing and high priority work demands
