Seton Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist with
focus on Chemotherapy/Biotherapy on their team.
Hours: Mixed shift- 3 weeks of day shift (7a-3:30p), 1 week of
evening shifts(12:30p-9:00p) plus 1 weekend (8a-8p) per

What You Will Do:
The Clinical Pharmacy specialist will be
responsible for providing direct patient care by proactively
impacting pharmacotherapeutic decisions through interdisciplinary
collaboration in the oncology/medical/surgical units and infusion
center at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin.
Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin Hospital in Austin, Texas, is
a full-service hospital with 24/7 emergency care and Comprehensive
Level 1 Stroke Center. ASMCA is a regional destination for
specialty care - including heart and vascular health, stroke care,
lung and esophageal cancers, maternity services and women's health.

In addition, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will be responsible
for collaborating with managers and staff of the pharmacy to
optimize operational pharmacy service and for contributing to
educational initiatives including precepting pharmacy residents and
students. Finally, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will be
expected to participate and manage quality improvement and research
projects within their scope of practice.

What You Will Need:

- Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and
resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
- Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
- Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to
patients. Provide drug information and education to medical staff

Licensure / Certification /
- Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy
- Pharmacy residency preferred.
Board certification in area of
speciality (oncology, pharmacotherapy) preferred
1+ year of hospital pharmacy experience
PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency highly
PGY-2 Oncology Residency or board
certification in oncology preferred
Prior experience in chemo/biotherapy highly
