About the Team

The Sales Development team is responsible for connecting top merchants across the US and Canada to our local outside sales team.  This team consists of Regional and Strategic Sales Development Reps who support front line sales people in local markets across North America. This sales development team is part of our Outside Sales group and is made up of members who sit in region for the teams that they support. 

About the Role

Sales Development plays an integral role in the continued growth of our market share in the US and Canada. In this role you’ll lead a team of Regional SDRs who are responsible for engaging, qualifying, and setting next steps with the top merchants in their market.  We are looking for a leader who can create, implement and manage strategies that drive performance. A leader who is excited to develop programs that enhance employee experience and is eager to provide mentorship and coaching that uplevels their team, helping them to prepare for future roles.  

You will report to our Senior Sales Development Manager within our Outside Sales organization. You will work closely with  Recruiting, Sales Ops, and General Management teams.

  • Build: Assist in sourcing, interviewing, and filling open positions, training new interviewers, and making existing processes stronger.
  • Develop: This team serves as the talent funnel for our full cycle sales roles, you will be responsible for growing your team's skillset and guiding their career development. 
  • Perform: Providing top of funnel support to our front line sellers helps them focus on closing deals and increasing selection. This role will ensure SDR inputs remain consistent while coaching and managing the quality of those inputs 
  • Collaborate: You will work cross-functionally with leaders across multiple teams to ensure that Sales Development’s goals are aligned with the best interest of DoorDash
  • Motivate: A key input to success is our people. The SDR role is high volume and consistently changing, ensuring high morale throughout your team is paramount to the groups success

    • You have 3+ years of sales experience with experience exceeding goals
    • You have 2+ years of sales management experience
    • You have a track record of coaching, developing and promoting your employees 
    • You pride yourself on your excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • You can navigate sales and internal tools quickly (Salesforce, Google Apps)
    • You have experience recruiting/hiring diverse talent and creating inclusive teams
  • You are DoorDash first — you work well with others under the one team one fight mindset and choose optimism on solving pain points that confront our Sales Development team or their Key Stakeholders 
  • You’re an insightful communicator — you operate at the lowest level of detail to understand our merchants and our sales teams problems, think outside of the room to identify the audience who most needs to help solve them, and clearly articulate in writing and verbally why these problems should be prioritized
  • You’re an empathetic leader — you have a track record of making room at the table for diverse perspectives; building a team that achieves the what is not enough, you accomplish the what and (not or) displaying our values in demonstrating the how
