You contribute to our success. Every role has an impact on our patients’ lives and you have the opportunity to make a difference. We are looking for a dedicated Valve Clinic Registered Nurse like you to be a part of our team.

Performs direct patient care within the scope of the nurse practice act, as it applies to the outcomes and process in the Valve Clinic. Plans, coordinates and implements the care of the valve patient in the outpatient setting. Scope of the role includes acting as a liaison with physicians, patient/families and ancillary departments. Assessment of financial, medical and social resources of current and potential valve program patients in conjunction with the research team. Coordination of information flow among the medical, nursing, and financial and research staff as appropriate. Development and implement a teaching plan with the patient and family. To include lab valves, medication overview and diagnosis related information. Assist the research team in the coordination of patient charts, diagnostic studies and other applicable information per protocol.

Qualifications/Specifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited  school of nursing; advanced degree (BSN/MSN) preferred.

Licensure/Certification: 
Current state licensure as a registered nurse or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact. Current certification in BLS and ACLS.

Experience: 
At least 3 years of cardiology or critical care experience.

Essential Technical/Motor Skills: 
Ability to manipulate various types of electronic and clinical equipment, adjust and troubleshoot monitoring equipment, IV infusions, and computer equipment. Ability to operate specialty equipment related to area of expertise and to perform computer tasks 

Interpersonal Skills: 
Must possess the ability to interact and communicate in English, both orally and written, with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and families in an effective manner, exhibiting tact, enthusiasm, and patience. Must be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
