From our headquarters in the Hill Country southwest of Austin, Texas, we operate on a lean and flexible basis allowing us to adapt to our client's design needs, budget, and schedule.POSITION SUMMARYHiller Measurements Assembly Technicians are responsible assembling, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, reworking and the modification of developmental and production components, parts, equipment, and systems such as wiring, cables, harnesses, PCBs, CCAs, RFIUs, rack enclosures, chassis, panels, electro-mechanical assemblies and other hardware for prototype, build-to-print and custom test systems under the direction of the production manager, production flow control and/or engineering.Hiller Measurements Assembly Technicians possess a dynamic skillset, with an extreme attention to detail, and utilize a large range of tools/soldering equipment such as bench drills, machine tools, crimpers, and soldering irons. The technician will work to an engineering drawing alongside a Bill of Materials (BOM), Interconnect Circuit Design (ICD) and wire list.Experienced Assembly Technicians preferred, however on-site training is available.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESStudies assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, schematics, diagrams, drawings, parts lists and takes verbal instruction for building, converting, and modifying all types of electronic and mechanical assemblies. Documents actions and provides Engineering feedback on incorrect documentation.Tests electronic components for electronic continuity.Gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.Assembles components and examines connections for correct fit; fastens parts and subassemblies.Provides required production and quality records as necessary.Lays out, builds, assembles, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and reworks production components, parts, equipment, and systems such as wiring, cables, harnesses, PCBs, CCAs, RFIUs, rack enclosures, chassis, panels, electro-mechanical assemblies and other hardware.Electronic assembly per IPC/WHMA-A-620 class 3 standards.Required Skills and AbilitiesAbility to multi-task, prioritize and change focus quicklyAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situationsCapable of working in a fast-paced environmentExtreme attention to detailFluent in speaking, reading and writing EnglishPreferred Skills, but On-Site Training available for:Prototype skills in working from schematicsFamiliar with all cabling techniques per WHMA-A-620Hand soldering both lead and lead-free assemblies to IPC class 3 standardsEducation, Experience, and Other Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentIPC J-STD-001, WHMA-A-620 and/or 610 CIS or CIT (Class 3 Workmanship) - Certification available on-siteMust be a US citizen or legal permanent resident (due to company contracts falling under the ITAR).Physical RequirementsProlonged periods sitting at a workbench.Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.Ability to wear gloves and ear protection when required.Must be able to traverse the production facility.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
