Robert Madden Industries, LTD. is a heating and air conditioning wholesale distributor offering Carrier, Bryant, Payne, and Day and Night equipment alongside a generous line of parts and supplies. After 42 years in business, the company has 18 locations across the state of Texas. The company is uniquely situated in the market because it is large enough to serve many locations in Texas while retaining the family-owned feel that started it all in 1979.

About the Position:

This position is responsible for auditing, managing and adjusting RMIs damaged inventory in Central and South Texas. The individual will be responsible for processing freight claims for this region. This individual will help make business decisions in support of department objectives, considering operations, finance, and facilities requirements. This individual will be highly analytical with the ability to synthesize data and make sound recommendations to management.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Completes monthly audits and recommends adjustments on damaged inventory for the Central and South Texas locations
  • Processes all freight claims for the region and monitors all claims until they are resolved
  • Reports the amount of discounts given on damaged inventory by location to the Director of Purchasing and Inventory
  • Reports the inventory damaged by location, and determines if the equipment must be written off or discounted for sale
  • Responsible for having parts for Repair and Sell as New equipment ordered
  • Responsible for coordinating the repairs for the Repair and Sell as New equipment and adjust the inventory out of the damage bins
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice

Position Requirements:

  • Highly motivated and energetic, with strong interpersonal skills and experience of dealing with and influencing internal stakeholders, external suppliers and senior leadership
  • Ambitious, driven, persistent and confident in own ability to achieve targets
  • Ability to initiate and support change and implement processes, tools and controls to contribute to continuous improvement activity within the department
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively manage the damaged inventory of multiple stores and to work within tight deadlines
  • Proven strategic thinker with strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated success of supply chain and project management, preferably within the HVAC industry
  • Availability to travel to Company, Customer and Supplier locations as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Qualifications, Attributes, Education and/or Experience:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Known for developing and delivering results on a timely basis
  • Able to work in an ambiguous, team-first environment
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations

Computer Skills:

  • Excellent computer, written skills including high proficiency in use of MS Office with emphasis on Excel and Power point.
  • Strong ERP skills, preferably in Epicor Prophet 21
