Overview Texas Oncology is looking for a Medical Assistant Sr. (CMA/RMA) to join our team! This position will work and support our Austin Midtown location; 901 W. 38th St., Suite 300, Austin, TX 78705. This is a full-time Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm position with no weekends or major holidays. This position will support two busy surgeons and 2 APPs and will need to travel to our location in Bastrop on Fridays. What does the Medical Assistant Sr. (CMA/RMA) do? The Medical Assistant, under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physician's schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities: Escorts patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment room, as appropriate. Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes. Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Medical Assistant Sr. (CMA/RMA) will have the following background and experience: High school graduate or equivalent required. Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants strongly preferred. Willing to consider an entry-, mid- or senior-level candidate. Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience. Current and active Medical Assistant Certification. Current BCLS certification required.The ideal candidate for the Medical Assistant Sr. (CMA/RMA) will have the following background and experience: High school graduate or equivalent required.
