Job Summary

The Product Marketing Programs Director will work directly with the leader of the Strategic Marketing group and product owners across SHI to define and deliver a range of Product Marketing support for existing and new products. The role will focus on creating go-to-market strategies, differentiated messaging, clear value propositions and supporting a good understanding of the solution capabilities among target audiences. The Product Marketing Programs Director will have a team of Solutions Marketing Communications Specialists as direct reports to manage, mentor and collaborate with on marketing projects.

The Product Marketing Programs Director will report to the Director Enterprise Programs. Although this role is often remote, the ideal candidate will be based within commuting distance of either Somerset NJ or Austin TX.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Support increased awareness and adoption of company developed services and solutions, both internally and externally. This will be achieved using a wide variety of marketing channels including (but not limited to):
  • Website Solutions pages
  • Blogs
  • Product Videos
  • Sales PPTs
  • Press announcements
  • Events & Webinars
  • Social Media
  • RFP content
  • Forge a close working alliance with the leaders of the company Solutions Demand Generation and Solutions Sales Enablement functions, to ensure that all demand generation and sales enablement activities are fully supported with professional product marketing.
  • Generate and Create content, directly responsible for messaging and articulating the value proposition across multiple media formats and channels.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Marketing and Marketing Communications groups, including resources to assist with additional copy writing, digital marketing support, events management and project management support.
  • Create a professional Product Marketing function as the Strategic Marketing group moves into phase two of its evolution (moving from a solutions-centered team structure, to one focused on Centers of Excellent with pan-solutions responsibilities)
  • Build out a Product Marketing team with greater bandwidth and abilities to support the company's growing solutions portfolio
  • Work closely with executive and senior leaders to develop and execute product marketing plans in alignment with company goals
  • Define the requirements to support the effective launch/growth of SHI-developed solutions
  • Develop clear and compelling positioning that will guide sales and marketing efforts
  • Manage the production of all product marketing activities and assets
  • Maintain brand integrity across all initiatives and communications
  • Collaborate with internal business leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create targeted content for various buying personas and buying stages of the SHI customer journey
  • Support Demand Generation and Sales Enablement teams with knowledge and content
  • Support Voice of Customer activities and work with product teams to ensure continual development of SHI services and solutions
  • Directly manage a group of Solutions Marketing Communication Specialists
  • Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including overseeing onboarding of new members
  • Delegate tasks to team members and follow up on accountability of tasks
  • Perform regular check in meetings with direct reports to check on status
  • Oversee the interviewing of a hiring team encouraging the diversity of background and experience


  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years' experience in the work force in a related industry or field - preferably in a senior product marketing role for a B2B technology or services firm
  • Minimum 3 years at a manager or director level leading a team
  • Experience of one or more of the following domains: Managed Workplace Services, Mobility Solutions, Cloud Hosting Solutions, IT Lifecycle Services
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite

  • Ability to set clear objectives and goals by enabling staff understanding of their own duties and the duties of their peers

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud Product Suite

Unique Requirements

  • 25-50% travel / commuting once the pandemic situation resolves
