We are looking for:

  • an MD / DO degree from an accredited Medical School
  • board certification or board eligibility in primary specialty
  • current, active license to practice in Texas
  • current, unrestricted DEA

What is the work?

Leadership / Patient Care:

  • Oversees day-to-day clinical and administrative functions for 1 - 2 outpatient primary care clinics (some with subspecialties, including PT / Chiro)
  • Supervises Physicians; coaches physician staff
  • Works as part of an integrated health team to provide / ensure continuity of care; develops / implements patient care management plans
  • Evaluates patients; obtains / studies medical histories; documents patient and clinic records
  • Interviews patients; understands patient medical history, assess physical health; examines as needed
  • Evaluates effectiveness of current care methods and procedures and suggest improvements
  • Educates / counsels patients; explains treatment plan; promotes physical health and wellness
  • Prescribes / administers / dispenses medications and treatment regimens in compliance with state and federal statutes; orders laboratory and radiology tests; refers patients to specialists as appropriate
  • Discusses potential side effects of medication / treatment; ensures all allergy information is up to date
  • Complies / ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements, infection control protocols and policies, and patient safety measures
  • Maintains professional / technical knowledge; reviews professional journals; establishes personal network; participates in professional associations
  • Identifies opportunities that will improve patient outcomes and streamline clinic processes
  • Ensures adherence to HIPAA regulations
  • Serves as liaison between providers and medical director
  • Provides clinical guidance to staff
  • Assists in providing Medical Director performance feedback on physicians and Operations Leader with performance feedback on support staff
  • Works with NP / PA Trainer to develop / maintain staff training
  • Develops new policies, procedures, etc. to improve clinical services and patient experience
  • Mentors new physicians; supports NP / PA trainer with intern program
  • Collaborates with lead RN on budget, metrics, etc.
  • Performs periodic chart reviews as determined by Medical Director
  • Manages special projects as assigned by Medical Director; serves as internal clinical lead for all initiatives

What is your background?

  • MD / DO degree from an accredited Medical School
  • Successful completion of residency at an accredited healthcare institution
  • 7 years of experience in a Primary Care Physician role (outside of residency)
  • Experience providing primary care and diagnostic services in a clinical setting, and prescribing appropriate medications,

treatments, and health regimens

  • Board certification or board eligibility in primary specialty
  • Current, active license to practice in Texas
  • Current, unrestricted DEA
  • Board certification in family medicine
  • NPI; current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration numbers
