* This position is grant funded. Continuation of the position is
contingent on refunding of the grant.
This position requires a four year degree in education, social
work, public administration or related field from an accredited
college or university, with a minimum of two (2) years' experience
in development, coordination and supervision of education or human
* Knowledge of school policies, procedures, and academic
requirements. District and campus organization structures, and
campus and community resource availability. * Knowledge of social
services and programs available to meet a range of health, income
and social service needs as well as knowledge of State, Local, and
Federal Laws affecting the lives of students and families (e.g.
Child Abuse and Neglect Laws). * Knowledge of McKinney-Vento
Homeless Assistance Act, and the rights and protections it provides
for homeless students. * Proficiency in computer database
applications. * Strong oral and written communication skills.
JOB PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
This position is responsible for coordinating the design,
implementation and evaluation of Project HELP Homeless Education
projects and programs. Work involves extensive collaboration with
schools, community groups, service providers and stakeholders. The
position provides homeless liaison services to a large number of
* Identify homeless students who qualify for services under the
McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act. * Provide enrollment
assistance and support services to homeless students and their
families, to ensure enrollment, attendance, participation, and
success in school. * Recruit, screen, hire and supervise project
staff and volunteers. * Develop and provide training for project
staff and volunteers. * Formulate action plans for implementing
project strategies. * Track project expenses. * Develop and
maintain links with a variety of community resources. * Compile
data and maintain project records and reports. * Compliance
oversight for records/documents/funds. * Interact with district,
City, County administrators, public.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:
Perform other related duties as assigned; comply with lawful
directives/team effort is required.
PERSONAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires that the incumbent sometimes work
irregular hours and travel within the city. Regular attendance is
required for this position. Incumbent work with district
administrators/public ad reports directly to the School, Family,
and Community Education Coordinator.

Pay Grade: AP1
Starting Salary: $29.75/hr.
