We make SAM a GREAT place to work, but it all starts with YOU!SAM is seeking a Technology Advisor with an Engineering 3D/4D focus to join the Applied Technology team. You will be joining a small group within the team that is the go-to team member for vetting, recommending, and deploying the latest solutions for our production work products. The team adapts innovative or develops custom solutions to support business needs and production groups to improve the quality and efficiency of workflows. We are only scratching the surface with what we can achieve, and you will have a front-row seat in advancing our efforts.The Technology Advisor role is responsible for innovating new ways to provide more value to our client deliverables. This role is also responsible for selecting, testing, and recommending hardware and software tools and assisting with standard procedures to maximize efficiency and accuracy. The staff in this role will support the entire SAM organization by increasing the proficiency and use of engineering tools. Research new and emerging technology, test, and implement as needed Innovate new tools, applications and workflows to meet business needs Work with departments to develop workflows for new or existing project types Provide high level (2nd tier) Bentley application support for production specific software Provide or coordinate training for production specific desktop software as needed Provide project technical support on as needed basis Coordinate with Information Technology on production related issues and assist in resolving Assist in maintaining production and deliverable standards Maintain relationships with vendor technical support and product managers Coordinate with vendor support to resolve high level software issues Integration and support of third party software solutionsBachelor's Degree in related field and 5 years of related technical experience; Associates Degree in related field and 10 years of related technical experience or 15 years of progressive responsibility of related technical experienceAbility to work Independently Ability to perform complex troubleshooting/problem solvingExperience with public speaking/leading training seminars or demonstrationsExpert level ability with production software platforms for DOT deliverables; Bentley Microstation, GEOPAK, InRoads, OpenRoads DesignerExperience with Autodesk Civil 3D a plusExperience with reality capture applications such as Context Capture, TopoDOT, or Terrasolids is a plusAdvanced knowledge of Engineering and GIS processesProficient with Microsoft technology stack with proficiency with Windows operating systems including serverGood working knowledge of computer programming technologies is a plus.
