About the roleAs Company's Head of Commercial Legal, you will lead and manage the fast-paced commercial transactions team within Company's Legal Team reporting directly to the General Counsel. You will work across the business, partnering with Sales and Go-To-Market functions to provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice on a wide variety of issues spanning the commercial transactions practice areas. What you'll doOwn broad responsibility for all of Company's commercial legal mattersLead, manage, train and mentor the commercial legal teamDevelop and implement efficiencies in the commercial negotiation process in collaboration with Sales and Operations leadershipPartner with Sales and Business Development leadership to ensure efficient and effective legal support for commercial transactions Provide strategic advice on design, implementation, and evolution of partnership programs and associated agreementsEvolve and manage education, information, and training programs for the sales organization on negotiation best practices and relevant legal issuesCollaborate cross-functionally across the organization to ensure agreements are consistent with internal policies and processesAdvise internal clients regarding legal issues including identifying, managing, and communicating risks and opportunities in commercial transactions Structure, draft, and negotiate a broad range of inbound supplier agreements including software and SaaS, professional services and outsourcing, IT infrastructure, marketing and advertising technology, and moreWhat you'll need10+ years of experience in commercial negotiations in the technology space (SaaS a plus), including deep in-house experience building and scaling support for sales transactions and other Go-To-Market activitiesAbility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where your role is constantly evolvingTop tier legal and business judgment with the ability to quickly assess risk and prioritizeHigh level organizational skills, resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptabilityAbility to understand business needs and partner with internal clients and outside groups to find creative solutions to complex problems Strong written/oral communication skills, ability to communicate complex legal issues in non-legal languageEnjoy collaborating with no ego in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentJD from a top tier U.S. law school and active good standing status membership to the CA, TX or NY Bar (other Bar memberships considered)Working knowledge in privacy and/or data security preferredSDL2017
