The Business Development Manager's role is crucial to fulfilling
one of Bazaarvoice's priorities this year - growing the network.
This role will work with North America's most influential retailers
to increase user generated content displayed on their ecommerce
sites. The role strengthens relationships with retailers through
networking across their organizations, leading training sessions
with merchandising teams, creating comarketing materials and
campaigns, and sharing compelling data to spark action. The role
combines retail knowledge, marketing know-how, tech industry
exposure, and salesmanship.
Business Development Manager Job Duties:
- Identify opportunities & develop value story/business case to
get initial buy-in from Retail clients on co-marketing
- Meet and exceed your personal quota through various tactics;
in-person training, webinars, email campaigns, vendor summits,
- Work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders such as
Retail Account Directors, Sales, Services, and Marketing to deliver
on what is best for the client while obtaining internal pipeline
- Deliver pipeline results through monitoring co-marketing
campaign activities, actively sharing out performance recaps, and
optimizing activities based on results.
- Have a passion for Retail and stay up to date on Retail trends
- Occasionally attend trade shows to network and be a
representative of Bazaarvoice and our retailers.
- BA or BS degree
- 2-5 years proven track record in business development, SaaS
sales, or retail merchandising. Retail experience strongly
- Superior presentation and communication skills, both written
and verbal. Experience presenting to executive leaders.
- Ability to communicate information, both technical and
non-technical, to staff members and customers, in a clear and
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
statistical analysis software.
- Ability to learn new software quickly and speak to technical
- Proving track record of managing projects start-to-finish with
tenacity and flexibility.
- 1+ year of startup experience
- 1+ years of SaaS sales experience
- 1+ year of corporate retail experience
