Job Description:

We have partnered with The State of Texas to recruit for a Call
Center Representative in Austin, Texas. The Position: Work involves
providing external customer service support and receiving and
responding to public inquiries for information and/or state
services. May train others. Works under general supervision, with
moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent
judgment. Requirements: -- Answer high volume incoming calls
(100/day) in a professional manner. -- Send an email to the
appropriate program area when a customer needs further update with
the status of request. -- Provide accurate information to
customers. * Responds to customer inquiries and maintains customer
accounts according to specific guidelines and procedures. *
Communicates with the public in person, by telephone, by email or
regular correspondence, by fax, or over the Internet. * Knowledge
of office practices and administrative procedures. * Skill in the
use of standard office equipment and software including Microsoft
Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. *
Enters information into databases, processes letters to customers,
and performs other general clerical services. * Reviews and routes
mail and other correspondence. * Researches information. *
Prepares, interprets, and disseminates information concerning
agency programs and procedures. * Receives and processes
applications and payments for state services. * Creates and
maintains activity logs, files, and reports on services. *
Interprets and explains rules, regulations, policies, and
procedures. * May train others. * Performs related work as
assigned. Expectations: * Ability to respond to public inquiries in
a timely manner. * Ability to implement administrative procedures
and to evaluate their effectiveness. * Ability to interpret rules,
regulations, policies, and procedures. * Ability to communicate
effectively. -- Ability to compose correspondence utilizing Texas
Vital Statistics terminology, and standard business English. *
Ability to lift, pull, carry, or push up to 12 pounds * Ability to
stand for long periods of time. -- Ability to communicate on the
telephone and in person in a clear, effective and diplomatic
manner. Compensation : $16-$18/hour Work Location: Central Austin
Work Schedule : Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM What's it
