About the Role
As a People Business Partner (PBP) supporting Field Operations, you have the opportunity to align business objectives with people strategies, in partnership with senior leaders across the field. These initiatives will enable the company's overall business strategy, culture, and values, and will directly contribute to the scaling of an inclusive, results-oriented, and high-performance work environment. With past experience operating in nimble, scaling SaaS Sales and/or Customer Success enterprise software environments, the ideal candidate will recall a history of success leveraging deep knowledge of HR policies and procedures to deploy the relevant executive coaching, manager/team enablement, and OD/OE initiatives to assist in enabling the business to meet mission-critical deliverables.
Within a rapidly growing, late-stage private company, the Field Operations organization functions at the crux of both growth and investment at Confluent. To scale successfully, established talent management practices must enable leaders to not only hire, develop, and retain talent, but maximize engagement. This PBP opportunity is positioned squarely at the center of scale and, as such, enables an extraordinary greenfield opportunity for the right candidate to imprint their leadership and expertise upon the people initiatives that lay the foundation for future growth.
This position reports directly to the Head of Field Operations People Business Partners.What You'll Achieve





  • Partner with Field Operations leaders to assess business goals, and design/execute talent strategies that advance priorities and drive scale
  • Analyze data to ascertain key insights that anchor and inform talent strategies to advance business objectives
  • Support full-scale People programs and processes for client groups, including performance management, compensation program administration, talent management, workforce planning, talent & leadership development, employee engagement & retention, org culture, and diversity & inclusion
  • Collaborate with team members across the people team, including compensation, recruiting, learning & development, benefits, and mobility, to help design and implement people programs and initiatives, which attract, develop retain, engage industry-leading talent
  • Design and lead efforts to evolve and strengthen our culture, including openness and inclusion
  • Guide managers and leaders on sensitive employee relations matters while partnering with employees as a trusted confidant and advocate
  • Develop trusting, value-add, credible relationships with business leaders, HR, and stakeholders
  • Act as a cultural steward to scale the Confluent culture as we grow our teams and locations



    What We're Looking For





    • BA/BS degree or equivalent working experience
    • 5+ years of Business Partner experience with accountabilities that include direct support of senior leaders (VP-Level and above)
    • Deep understanding of Software as a Services (SaaS) Field Sales and Customer Success operations and their operations within an enterprise software environment
    • First-hand experience working within a multi-regional, fast-growing organization with progressive HR practices
    • Demonstrable experience engaging leaders on thoughtful implementation of compensation programs, such as bonus, stock, and merit to help retain, recognize, reward top talent
    • Demonstrated competence in the various HR functional areas, especially organizational design/organizational effectiveness, executive coaching, and change management
    • A strong balance of IQ and EQ with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
