As part of making Arm-based solutions successful, Arm makes a
significant investment in the software that makes Arm-based devices
run. As a Software Product Manager based out of either our Austin,
TX or San Jose, CA office, you will make this a reality. Work with
Arm partners and key customers to gather and prioritize
requirements for software enablement and optimization and develop
strategies to satisfy these requirements using internal resources
and working the Arm ecosystem and wider software communities. This
includes communication via presentations, events, and media,
including digital channels. As a member of the Infrastructure (Data
center) Line of Business, you will join a team of product managers
who are addressing the growing demand for software in new markets
Bring a passion for strategic delivery of software products for
the Infrastructure space! Key to the role is understanding the
software development process and engaging with key decision makers,
both internally and externally. This includes highlighting the
advantages of the Arm software ecosystem, as well as being able to
explain why Arm invests in software and how that provides an
advantage to Arm devices. Expect to develop material around the
capabilities and opportunities for Infrastructure, specifically
server and data center, with software as the key component.
Some of the day to day responsibilities may include, but are not
Lead development of the priorities and support the vision for
software activities, evolving around Arm IP and Architecture, as
well as the multiple open source projects typically comprising SW
stacks used in modern datacenters. Specific focus will be on lower
layers of the software stack, including firmware, operating
systems, containers, and languages/runtimes.
Work closely with architects and technology leads, directly
engaging with internal and external software development teams
Work with the complete value chain of end customers,
manufacturers, and designers of hardware, software and systems to
collect market requirements and translate these into product
Perform competitive analysis and identify the strengths and
weaknesses of Arm-based solutions versus the competition
Develop business cases for proposed features, articulating value
proposition in partnership with the Go-to-Market team
Evangelize Arm in open source software communities
Work with our Go-to-Market and Product Marketing teams to
support specific opportunities, including participating in customer
meetings, sales meetings, and training
What skills, experience, and qualifications do I need?
BS degree (or equivalent), ideally in a numerate subject,
although other graduates would be considered if they have relevant
A track record in developing and delivering software products to
customers in the datacenter space. Preference will be given to
those with experience in operating systems, runtimes, or other
lower-level software, but such experience is not required.
3+ years Software Product Management experience from previous
Demonstrable experience with creation and management of software
Ability to express ideas and communicate effectively with other
team members, customers and suppliers - formulating and executing
Motivation to work unsupervised, but as an integral part of a
globally distributed developer and marketing team
Comfortable with the requirement to travel, since at least 25%
of this role may involve travel, including to international
