Job Summary: The Production Team Leader will be responsible for leading and managing the daily activities of the composites team to ensure safety, quality, cost, and throughput goals are met. This role involves training and certifying team members on their job functions, coordinating manpower to optimize production flow, and stepping in to backfill for the supervisor/team when necessary. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Train and Certify Team Members: Train new employees on production processes and company policies. Certify team members on specific job tasks to ensure competency and compliance with safety and quality standards. Ensure Safety, Quality, and Production Standards: Promote and enforce safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Monitor and ensure product quality meets the company’s standards. Oversee production to meet cost and throughput requirements. Manpower Coordination: Plan, schedule, and allocate manpower based on production needs. Adjust manpower allocation in response to daily production requirements and unexpected absences. Act as a backup to the production supervisor when needed, overseeing operations and decision-making processes. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the team to identify areas for improvement in the production process. Implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain production targets. Qualifications Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and training abilities. Understanding of safety regulations, quality control, and production processes. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing production demands. Preferred Skills: Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies. Previous experience as a Team Leader or similar leadership role. Familiarity with ION, Arena. Physical Demands Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours/day Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 20 lbs.
