Job Description:
The assembly technician role is responsible for the
manufacturing of scientific grade optomechnical and electronic
devices. The individual will ensure timely completions of
production orders to schedule. The product delivered should be free
of workmanship defects and fully tested and verified by the
production technician to meet documented specifications. In
addition, the individual should consistently look for opportunities
to improve production processes through providing feedback to
engineering. Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not
limited to: -Assembly and testing of scientific grade imaging devices (CCD,
CMOS) -Delivery of product on time to production schedule -Consistently look for opportunities to improve processes -Occasionally support evaluation of new product introduction
processes -Ensure delivery defect free product -Effectively communicate any supply chain issues that are
effecting production -Ensure all production areas are kept clean and tidy at all
times -Ensure proper maintenance of production equipment is kept up to
date -Occasionally support any other areas of the business as
needed -Produce detailed documentation on product failures, returns and
procedure deficiencies -Support shipping and receiving of production related goods Working/Environmental Conditions: -Office and Manufacturing environment; night/weekend work when
needed. Physical Conditions: Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition
necessary for sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of
time; operate a computer and keyboard; near visual acuity to review
written documentation; facility to hear and understand speech at
normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to work
with small components; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to
shoulder height. Qualifications: Experience: -Two years of experience working within a relevant industry. Education: -Equivalent to completion of high school supplemented by
relevant industry experience Specialized Knowledge and Skills: -Familiar working with optical systems containing optics,
mechanics and electronics -Computer literate to include: Axapta and Microsoft word, Excel
and outlook -Ability to work constructively within a team -Excellent dexterity -Soldering of small surface mount and thru hole components -Basic understanding of ESD and best practice in a production
environment -Basic Understanding of Lean Six Sigma Principles is not
