Job Description: The Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) Systems Analyst performs advanced computer systems analysis work. Work for this position involves administration of Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, WINS, DFS and GPOs in a Windows 2008/2012/2016 environment. The analyst will also be responsible for PowerShell scripting, data analysis, server monitoring, performance optimization, and server documentation. The work will be performed in a team environment where the individual will script, test, implement and support critical systems in support of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). The duties of this resource are vital to ensuring that systems using automated scripts are properly supported with expertise and skills at a high level. Applicant will support servers by performing hardware and software support along with assisting with data storage. The individual will work under minimal direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Utilizes advanced technical skills to supply scripted automated solutions for simple and complex functionality in the way of deliverables related to the daily operations/maintenance, design and implementation of applications with a wide range of client and agency specific functionality. The applicant will support cross agency business process analysis projects with all HHS agencies. The analyst will be on-call in a 24/7 environment. Essential Job Functions: Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Administration of Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, WINS, DFS and GPOs (15%) Develops and maintains procedures, processes, and documentation as related to, and as needed, (15%) Investigates, develops and implements solutions for agency issues and requirements (15%) Work Helpdesk tickets and troubleshoot Active Directory issues (10%) Documents results of all testing including reasons for disapprovals when applicable (10%) Conducts and participates in intra- and inter-agency automation meetings, technical forums, and IT workgroups/committees (5%) Maintains all related installation and configuration parameters (5%) Recommends research of hardware and software that may prove beneficial to the agency s mission (5%) Communicates directly with agency staff and outsourced vendors to provide guidance regarding installation, troubleshooting and configuration (10%) Coordinates posting of instructional documentation for technical and non-technical groups (2%) Keeps informed of the latest advancements in IT to ensure the smooth transition of the agency s information technology and business requirements (3%) Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain operations (5%) Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications: N/A Knowledge Skills Abilities: Knowledge of: Demonstrated knowledge of design and architect of Active Directory Infrastructure, including, design and implementation of Group Policy, DNS and DHCP. Strong understanding of architecting and configuring Microsoft Windows OS technology including AD Forests, Domains, Trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and Organizational Units Strong 'principal of least privilege' understanding and ability to leverage technology to achieve such principal Strong record of operational success managing Microsoft Active Directory services including outstanding uptime and throughput Experience with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and Windows Azure AD Exhibit deep knowledge of industry-wide IT technologies, practices, and processes especially Federation, SSO, SAML, Identity Management, and Active Directory Extensive Experience with Microsoft Server System Administration of Active Directory Extensive Experience with DNS, ADFS, WINS, DFS and GPO Administration Extensive knowledge of PowerShell scripting Skill in developing technical documentation Skill in providing customer service Ability to simultaneously coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks Ability to communicate technical information to individuals with various levels of technical knowledge Skill in: Architecting, designing, and troubleshooting of MS Active Directory 2008/2012/2016 in a large-scale multi-site environment Ability to: Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain Active Directory (AD) Federation Services, AD Rights Management Services, AD Certificate Service and AD Security and Delegation. Identify opportunities for infrastructure and process improvements Provide AD forest level service architecture planning, third party tools deployment, and integration strategies Communicate complex technical information to people in non-technical terms, excellent written and oral skills. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to any level of the organization in a clear and concise manner. Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization and work in a matrixed environment. Analyze work related problems, draw evidence-based conclusions, and devise innovative solutions. Support IT goals and objectives including measures and projects Initial Screening Criteria: * Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, or management information systems is generally preferred. Education and experience may be substituted for one another * 8 years of experience in Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, WINS, DFS and GPO administration * 5 years of experience in PowerShell scripting * 5 years of experience in server hardware and software support * Must be willing to be on-call in 24/7 environment Final Selection Criteria: The selected candidate will have: Met all initial screening criteria Showed proficiency in listed essential job functions and KSAs Demonstrated excellent customer service skills Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated proficiency in developing and utilizing processes and procedures Demonstrated an attention to detail MOS Code: 0322 - provided by Dice
