Generally, work Monday-Friday, and occasional weekends during the month. Specific work days, area, and work hours will vary based on the needs of the Unit and Housing and Dining. Selected candidate must provide proof of education and/or experience.

    Provides support for the IT Unit within Housing and Dining. Serves as a primary administrator for C-Cure (Door Access System) and Micros (Point of Sale System). Provides Server Administration support for Housing and Dining. Assists with all other IT functions.
    Essential Functions
    Assist the IT Manager with daily server administration tasks. Monitor the specifications and development of hardware and software with a view toward improved system performance. Advise IT Manager concerning the interaction of software and hardware components and assist in the installation and maintenance of software and hardware. Point of Sale Administrator. Serve as primary administrator for Oracle Hospitality (formerly Micros) Simphony First Edition system. Enter new items, edit items, design touchscreens, enter pricing updates, enter new employees, deactivate employees, configure reports, and all other Point of Sale administration tasks. Meet with Dining Managers regularly to ensure smooth operations of the Point of Sale System Door Access Administrator. Serve as a primary administrator for C-Cure, which includes monitoring system operations. Processes door access requests for professional and student staff, guests, and vendors. Train and develop professional and student staff on C-Cure. Develop protocols and training materials. Assist with Desktop Support operations. Perform installation, configuration, repair, maintenance, and upgrades on Windows hardware, related equipment, and various university applications. Oversee the maintenance of components and guide student technical staff. Provide computer desktop support and services to Housing and Dining end-users with a professional demeanor. Administrative: Participate in Housing and Dining Initiatives. Attend regularly scheduled meetings. Perform special projects and tasks. Perform other duties as assigned. Occasional after hours and on call duties.

    Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
    Marginal/Incidental functions
    Work as a team member in a diverse environment. Other related functions as assigned.
    Required qualifications
    Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in systems administration. Systems administration training and experience. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the function of the job. Ability to learn university systems. Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
    Preferred Qualifications
    High school graduation or GED. Three or more years of experience in computer systems design and analysis, or an Associate Degree. Three or more years of experience in the following: Installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows 7 based computers. Installing, configuring and troubleshooting computer-related peripherals. Troubleshooting, installing and configuring various software titles including Microsoft Office applications. Troubleshooting network-related hardware. Windows Server administration. Experience managing a door access system. Experience managing a point of sale system. Experience with Active Directory/Group Policy in an enterprise environment.

    A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.

    The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas ( TRS ), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
