seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer to support the Air
Education & Training Command at Randolph AFB in San Antonio, TX.
Candidates must currently possess a TS/SCI security clearance.
Serve as the Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) and
principal security adviser to the Air Education and Training
Command (AETC) Air Force (AF) Intelligence Community (IC) Command
Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), spanning 10 bases in
support of two Number AF (NAF), three Wings, two Group, and 33
Units. You will be the primary authority on all matters involving
the security of the information system, from high-level
architecture design to daily security operations. As the ISSE for
the Command, this role is focused on proactive security engineering
(85%). In addition, you will also conduct duties and require
knowledge/expertise as an information system security officer
(ISSO) for the HQ AETC/A2 Intelligence Directorate (15%). Key
Responsibilities: Security Architecture & Engineering Support:
Support the design, development, and implementation of secure
information system solutions for AETC's Air Force Intelligence
Community (IC) Information Environment (IE). Review and provide
technical recommendations on hardware, operating systems, and
software, ensuring they align with government security requirements
for confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Serve as the AETC
resident expert to provide subject matter expertise, knowledge, and
experience to the government client on the interpretation and
application of security directives, including ICD 503, CNSS 1253,
and the NIST SP 800 series. Policy & Compliance Support: Assist the
government in developing and implementing MAJCOM-level
cybersecurity policy to ensure compliance with DoD, Air Force, and
IC directives. Support the command's Risk Management Framework
(RMF) program by assisting government personnel prepare and review
certification and accreditation (A&A) packages. Analyze
Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG)/Security Requirement
Guide (SRG) compliance scans and provide recommendations for system
hardening and remediation. Client & Team Support: Provide technical
guidance and training materials to support government Information
System Security Managers (ISSMs) and Information System Security
Officers (ISSOs). Serve as a trusted adviser to AETC Units,
ensuring security best practices are understood and implemented
effectively. Mandatory Qualifications: Currently possess (and
maintain) an active TS/SCI security clearance. Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related
technical field. 5-12 years of relevant experience. CISSP
certification in good standing. Must meet and maintain all DoD 8140
certification requirements. Demonstrated expert-level proficiency
in computer architecture, computer networking, operating systems,
and computer/network security fundamentals. Ability and willingness
to travel. Anticipate approximately 8 trips per year to support
AETC missions. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Preferred
Qualifications: Technical Experience: Hands-on experience with
vulnerability scanning tools, intrusion detection systems (IDS),
and other security monitoring tools. Proficiency with the XACTA IA
Manager application for Risk Management Framework (RMF) package
management. Experience in secure coding practices and application
security assessments. Policy & Framework Expertise: In-depth
knowledge of DoD RMF processes and compliance regulations. Ability
to develop and interpret security architectures, data flow
diagrams, and network diagrams. Professional Skills: Proven
experience in designing and implementing robust security solutions.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to brief senior
leaders and mentor junior personnel. Ability to meet mission
requirements in a timely manner, integrate into a professional and
secure work environment, and adapt to changing priorities. Strong
analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Experience working on
an AF Major Command (MAJCOM) staff or equivalent. Experience
working with secure compartmental information (SCI) systems.

Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00 The Leidos pay range for
this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of

well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable
