Salary Range: Up to $48,649/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.

    Essential Functions

    Job Summary

    To provide skilled technology assistance in the operation, maintenance, and repair of hardware and software that is utilized in the learning environment.

    Core Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the preparation, operation, and maintenance of classroom and special event technology.
  • Installs, operates, adjusts, and maintains classroom technology used in the learning environment including but not limited to computers, projectors, monitors, audio systems, cameras, recording systems, and document cameras in classrooms, labs, and conference rooms.
  • Diagnoses and analyzes technology issues in the learning environment including but not limited to computer hardware/software, wired/wireless networks, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Loads, reimages and tests classroom computer images.
  • Provides technical support and knowledge of classroom computers and/or a network to include setup of classroom computers on the university network, and installing and configuring classroom computer hardware and software.
  • Supports university clients by facilitating the installation, administration, troubleshooting, and loading of approved software that deviates from the standard configuration on classroom computers.
  • Oversees classroom transmission in university-supported distance learning facilities.
  • Provides technology support for university-approved special events.
  • Trains faculty, staff, students, and visitors in the proper use and care of equipment and software in the learning environment.
  • Assists in providing thought-out technology solutions to faculty, staff, and students of the university.
  • Delivers equipment to enhance the learning environment when not permanently installed.
  • Assists in large-scale technology installation projects under the direction of management.
  • Communicates with faculty and staff regarding classroom technology issues, concerns, and updates.
  • Promotes safe and environmental protection by immediately reporting unsafe situations, spills, and accidents; following University safety plans/procedures/protocols; and participating in appropriate safety training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Required Qualifications
    • Associate's degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited institution.
    • Technical training/experience may be substituted on a year-to-year basis.
    • One (1) year of experience in the operation and maintenance of audio-visual equipment, computer hardware/software, and wired/wireless networking.
    • Knowledge of technology such as multimedia projectors, projection screens, wired/wireless microphones, sound systems, Windows/Apple computers, wired/wireless networking equipment, and other applicable equipment.

        Working Conditions

        Working Environment:
        • Usual classroom and lab environments.
        • Requires use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, and calculator.
        • Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.
        • Occasional after-hours and weekend work or overtime may be required.
        • Some exposure to hazards associated with electrical equipment.
        • Work is often performed with inadequate lighting.


          Physical Demands:
          • Occasionally lift and move 75 lbs.
          • Required at times to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
          • Required to climb, move, and work on ladders a minimum of twelve feet high.


            This position will be primarily located on campus (Main and Downtown). Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
