Salary: Full-Time 12-month (232-day) with a minimum salary of
$77,498.00
Job Summary (Primary Purpose): ESC Region 13 is seeking a highly
skilled and experienced professional to fill a unique role that
combines network administration and cybersecurity. The Network
Administrator / Cybersecurity Specialist will be responsible for
maintaining and securing our network infrastructure, as well as
monitoring and responding to potential cybersecurity threats.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Education/
Certificates):
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology,
or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute
for degree.
- At least 2 years of experience in network administration and
cybersecurity preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and
technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and
BGP.
- Experience with network security tools, such as firewalls,
intrusion detection and prevention systems, and vulnerability
scanners.
- Familiarity with security frameworks and standards, such as
NIST, CIS, and ISO.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Major Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying
courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions
with other members of the education community and with the
public.
- Administer and maintain our network infrastructure, including
switches, routers, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including network
connectivity, performance, and security.
- Ensure that network infrastructure is up-to-date and in
compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Monitor and maintain network security, including intrusion
detection and prevention, vulnerability scanning, and security
incident response.
- Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and
standards to protect company information assets.
- Work with other teams to ensure that security controls are
integrated into our software development life cycle.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees and assist
with security audits and compliance reviews.
- Provide support to internal and external clients, either by
phone, site-based visits, or by local conference meetings.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in
network administration and cybersecurity.
- Perform other duties as assigned
