Software Engineer - Reliability OUR STACK LANGUAGES: JavaScript (w/ Typescript), Node, C# FRAMEWORKS: Serverless Framework, Terraform, .Net APPLICATION MONITORING: Cloudwatch, ELK, Grafana ALERTING SYSTEM: Pagerduty AWS CLOUD: Lambda, EC2, API Gateway, Cloudfront, S3, IAM EDGE-SIDE COMPUTE / WAF: Cloudflare CICD: - GitHub Actions, Jenkins SOURCE CONTROL: GitHub Configuration: AWS SSM Web Server Technologies: IIS Service Discovery: Consul, AWS CloudMap PROCESS: JIRA, Confluence, GitHub WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU

• Work effectively with a team of 3 other Site Reliability Engineers w/ various focuses on software development and cloud infrastructure , Scrum, Cloud Operations and Architecture to modernize our platform
• Has a wide breadth of knowledge of compute, storage, message queueing and networking of AWS resources
• Understanding best practices of software reliability and availability
• Has experience working with a development team to plan / build out tasks for setting SLI / SLOs for new and legacy features and can influence the application's SLA
• Has experience writing Github Actions - / Jenkins software pipelines
• Has experience writing complex multi-resource terraform / cloudformation stacks from scratch QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of hands on development experience especially in backends -
  • Strong programming skills in .NET and JavaScript
  • Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS)
  • Experience with automation tools such as Terraform
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as ELK Stack and Grafana
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • 2+ years working closely with software development teams
  • 1+ years of hands on Site Reliability experience -
    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • AWS Associate Developer Certification
    • Experience with strongly, statically typed languages and OOP principles in C#
    • Experience with Instana, Cloudwatch, ELK, Grafana
    • Experience with Github Actions or Jenkins CI
    • Experience with Ansible or AWS SSM ABOUT YOU uShip's Reliability Focused Engineers are part of a cross-functional platform agile team, solving challenging problems in the logistics e-commerce space. We are looking for an engineer to help ensure the reliability of our next wave of products. - Ideal candidates want to deeply understand how our systems work from the infrastructure level, their dependencies to other systems, how to mitigate risk, and develop strategies for service failover. You'll be building the foundation that enables us to empower the logistics landscape and help customers all over the world. Location: - Austin, TX, hybrid work environment (708 Congress Ave 78701). Must be able to be in office 50% of the time for first 3 mos onboarding. Salary Range: - $110-130k base salary (est. $120-150k total comp w/bonus, insurance, 401k matching, etc.) Why uShip?
