The Payment Systems Risk development group is responsible for
building critical risk and fraud prevention applications and
services at Visa. This includes idea generation, architecture,
design, and delivery of products, applications, and services that
provide Visa clients with solutions to detect, prevent, and
mitigate fraud for Visa and Visa client payment systems.
This position is ideal for an experienced engineering leader who is
passionate about collaborating with business and technology
partners and engineers to solve challenging business problems. You
will be a key driver in the effort to define the shared strategic
vision for the Payment Systems Risk platform and defining tools and
services that safeguard Visa's payment systems.
The right candidate will possess strong software engineering
background, with demonstrated experience in driving technical
architecture, design and delivery of products and services that
have created business value and delivered impact within the
payments or payments risk domain or similar industries.
A successful candidateisa technical leader with the ability to
engage in high bandwidth conversations with business and technology
partners and be able to think broadly about Visa's business and
drive solutions that will enhance the safety and integrity of
Visa's payment ecosystem.
Essential Functions
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time
between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are
expected to work from the office three days a week, Tuesdays,
Wednesdays and Thursdays with a general guidepost of being in the
office 50% of the time based on business needs"
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
--- 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or
at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g.
Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a
PhD in Computer Science or related discipline
--- Have had hands-on engineering experience architecting high
performant platforms
--- 5 or more years' experience leading engineering teams on
product development
--- 5 or more years of people management experience
--- Technically savvy and have deep understanding about system
architecture and design best practices from building client facing
high performant systems with high SLAs
--- Experience leading full stack development, using some of these
technologies- Java, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Angular, JavaScript,
MySQL, Maven, and Design Patterns, Test Automation framework
--- Experience leading development on Hadoop, using Spark and Scala
based large data processing and transaction systems
--- Have great work ethics, and be a team player striving to bring
the best results as a team
--- Experience in roadmap planning and execution to roadmap and
KPIs
--- Experience defining metrics and measuring performance of
development teams
--- Experience leading development with engineers and teams in
multiple geographical locations and time zones
--- Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and effective communication
skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise
way
--- Experience leading, coaching, and growing engineering teams
--- Experience conducting technical interviews and hiring top
engineering talent
--- Be passionate about inspiring and building a highly engaged
team
--- Be passionate about delivering zero defect code that meet or
exceed the proposed defect SLA and have high sense of
accountability for quality and timeliness of one's own deliverables
and team deliverables
--- Be flexible to adapt to changing directions and priorities
--- Be empathetic to understand engineers
Preferred Qualifications:
--- 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or
8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters,
MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
--- While you'll have the skill to see and understand the big
picture, you're able to stay focused on the task at hand to achieve
immediate goals
--- Be systematic and be able to do deep research wanting to
uncover the details
--- Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity
--- Past experience leading AWS based hybrid solutions is
preferred
--- Past experience leading AI/ML based fraud solutions is
preferred
--- Experience in unit testing frameworks, functional testing
processes, test management and automated testing tools
--- Experience in docker and Kubernetes based deployments and
platforms
--- Familiarity with CI/CD tools is preferred
--- Experience in Payments and Fraud/Risk platforms is
preferred
U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire
into this position is 152,300 to 198,000 USD, which may include
potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary
depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge,
skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be
eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits
package for which this position may be eligible that includes
Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid
Time Off, and Wellness Program.
