Your JobThe Small and Medium Business Employer Experience team at Indeed strives to use matching and recommendation innovation to create valuable interactions between employers and job seekers, at scale. We leverage existing Indeed technology as well as build new platforms and product features that create novel experiences that add value to the Employer s experience with the Indeed platform. This effort results in better, more long lasting jobs for the over 250 million job seekers who use Indeed to change their lives.Responsibilities:As a Staff Software Engineer in the SMB Employer Experience team, you will build software that guides employers to post high-quality jobs which achieve good performance in Indeed s search results.You will build UIs and APIs to offer helpful guidance to employers and highlight problems with jobs that could prevent them from being filled.You will join a collaborative team of extremely talented Engineers, UX designers, and Product Managers. We constantly dig into the data available at Indeed to analyze, inform and develop solutions to the right problems. If looking at data, slicing and dicing it in multiple ways and coming up with interesting insights is something you thrive upon, you will fit right in.Who You AreBachelor s degree required in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent field required5+ years experience programming with at least one of the following languages: Java, Kotlin, JavaScript3+ years experience building full-stack applicationsExperience with microservice architectures and solid API design, including leveraging protocols such as gRPC, REST, GraphQL, Apigee or other API Gateways3+ years of experience mentoring more Junior EngineersSignificant experience with large-scale, high-performance systemsExperience with building systems on leveraging search technologies such as ElasticsearchUnderstanding of measuring reliability through SLAs/SLOs and driving a culture centered on operational metricsWho we areThe Small to Medium Businesses (SMB) organization at Indeed develops products centered around the hiring needs of SMB businesses, making the hiring process simpler, faster and more effective so they always find the talent that is right for their business, when they need it. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees.
