primarily work outside of an HPE office.Job DescriptionJob Family
Definition:Analyzes customer information requirements and product
specifications to define technical content strategy and plan.
Designs and develops written and/or visual product-related
information - hard copy, web - (e.g.,
user/configuration/troubleshooting guides), and online information
(interactive demos, help systems) integrated into product, for a
variety of audiences (end user, system administrators, internal
support engineers, product developers, training developers). Codes,
builds, compiles, and tests online information and/or sets-up,
loads and tests systems hardware to create information deliverables
and provide feedback on ease of use and user interfaces to product
development. As customer advocate, helps define/refine product
requirements. Develops standards and style documents and templates,
scripts, style sheets, and script and graphic libraries to ensure
common look and feel. Interfaces with cross-functional areas as a
member of the product development team, such as marketing, test,
support, and manufacturing.Management Level DefinitionApplies
intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety
of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex
scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of
information and limited project direction input. Exercises
independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to
determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and
interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes
recommendations.Education And Experience Required
- Typically a First Level University degree in Technical
Communications, Computer Science or related
technical/communications field and a minimum of 2-4 years related
experience or an Advanced University degree and up to 2 years
related experience or equivalent.
- Understand software and hardware technology area concepts and
develops working knowledge of products/processes, applications and
systems in assigned area of responsibility such as authoring tools
and source management.
- Ability to operate in multiple disciplines (multi-platform
products).Knowledge And Skills
- Existing product within a technology, or new product within a
technology with supervision.Job Description
- Create technical product documentation for HPC software and
hardware products
- Design and develop written and visual product-related
information
- Help develop a best-in-class customer experience that unites
information from multiple development teams and tools
- Analyze customer information requirements and product
specifications to define scope of work and documentation plan
- Identify and address the needs of all user groups, including
end users, system administrators, internal support engineers,
product developers, and training developers
- Test documentation for install or administrative tasks to
improve information deliverables and provide feedback on ease of
use and user interfaces to product development
- Manage workload in Jira and source management tools Git and
Github to manage changes in the shared work environment
- Track and manage multiple work items simultaneously
- Work with developers, testers, product managers, and tech
support to identify new features and content that needs to be
reworked
- Work independently with some input from experienced team
members
- Recognize and raise issues with manager or engineering
teamsKnowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Familiar with software infrastructure, development processes,
software testing, system integration, release planning, and process
automation
- Familiarity with GitHub, REST APIs, Python, Docker, Kubernetes,
Jenkins (preferred) is a huge plus
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems as a user and as a
writer for developers and system administrators
- Oxygen, Markdown, PanDoc, Typora, VSD, or similar tools
- CCMS, DITAExperience
- Understands concepts and develops in-depth working knowledge of
products, applications, and systems in assigned area of
responsibility
- Ability to deliver on multiple project technical requirements,
schedules, and information formats
- Knowledge of containers, machine learning, data-science process
a plus
- Knowledge of tools and technologies relevant to content
development and delivery.Education
- First level university degree in related
technical/communications fields with a minimum of 1-2 years related
