Job Description:Actalent's client is looking for an experience Security Software Engineer to work with the Incident Detection & Response branch of the company. They provide the company with security monitoring, digital investigation, and forensic services to guard against attacks and intellectual asset loss. Our mission is to protect the company, systems, and data by performing comprehensive investigations into computer security incidents, and to help prevent such incidents through proactive threat assessment, mitigation planning, incident trend analysis, and security architecture review. This role you will be designing and building innovative solutions for threat detection, security intelligence automation and incident management, as part of a world class team working on the cutting edge of information security. Shape new capabilities to transform and support the team mission of rapidly detecting and responding to security threats, and in providing actionable and insightful risk and threat information to management.Roles & Responsibilities+ Learn and deploy new technologies as needed to support business objectives related to security detection and response.+ Design and implement new detection technologies.+ Collaborate with data source SME's in CSIRT and InfoSec to enhance, improve, or modify cloud based security detection and response.+ Update, modify, and enhance existing programs used for security detection and response.+ Manage software upgrades, evaluations of new versions of the software.+ Maintain the production security environment, including identification of problems and driving resolution.+ Manage user accounts, including AD account management and authorization rules mapping specific users to specific metric views.+ Develop documentation on all custom solutions.+ Regularly view and verify existing metrics to ensure accuracy and quality.+ Annotate existing metrics to improve user understanding of the meaning of metrics.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Required Skills+ Excellent technical skills in a variety of operating systems, languages and databases+ Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) tools, like Jenkins, Bitbucket, and Gitlab+ Professional software development experience with a variety of languages such as Python, Java, Go, and Rust (Python is a must.)+ Programming experience in a Linux (or Unix) based environment+ Design and implementation of RESTful APIs+ In-depth understanding of micro-services design and implementation+ Agility and willingness to deal with a high level of ambiguity and change+ Flexibility - willingness to pitch in where needed across program and team+ Excellent communication skills and a self-starter+ Strong leadership, influence and collaboration skills; sound problem resolution, judgment, negotiating and decision making skills+ Global teaming skills and ability to focus the team to deliver to tight timelines+ Understanding of Docker platform for building, shipping and running distributed applicationsNice to Have+ Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies+ A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).+ Infrastructure-as-a-Service platforms (OpenStack, Amazon Web Services, Rackspace, AWS, HP, Citrix, Eucalyptus or VMware, etc.) About Actalent: Actalent connects passion with purpose.
