Join us as a senior software and simulation architect in the CPU team!NVIDIA needs a passionate engineer who is comfortable in both the hardware and software worlds to help us push the boundaries of full-system simulation. In todays complex systems, CPU architecture is driven by workloads spanning the entire system, including CPU, GPU, and other peripherals. This role is key to getting complex workloads, such as gaming, Deep Learning (DL) and High-Performance Computing (HPC) running in simulation, enabling important decisions to be made about future architectures. We need people who are skilled both at developing simulators, and in running and debugging software on them.What you'll be doing:

  • Develop high-performance full-system functional models (CPU, GPU, peripherals) of future SoC architectures.
  • Bring up system and application software on full-system functional models, including firmware, Linux, drivers, benchmarks, and CPU/GPU workloads such as DL and HPC frameworks.
  • Support CPU architects and performance engineers as they use full-system simulation to drive next-generation CPU and SoC architectures.What we need to see:
    • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or a Bachelors Degree in those fields (or equivalent experience)
    • 5 or more years of relevant experience working in a fast-paced development environment
    • Excellent C/C++ programming skills
    • Significant experience in development of functional simulators and/or development of low-level software (OS, firmware, drivers); preferably both
    • Excellent debugging skills both of system software/firmware and of application software
    • Experience with the ARM ISAWays to stand out from the crowd:
      • Strong Python skills

      • Experience working with HPC workloads
      • Understanding of SoC and CPU architectureNVIDIA invented the GPU in 1999 and sparked the growth of PC gaming, redefined computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, Nvidia developed and introduced the world's first 64-bit ARM-compatible processor shipping in an Android platform. Coupling world-class graphics processors with state-of-the-art custom CPUs has enabled Nvidia to break ground and set standards of perfection in an array of meaningful and exciting applications.Our team plays a key role in setting power and performance goals for our in-house developed CPUs, as well as ensuring that the resulting design meets these goals. We collaborate with other groups within and outside of the greater CPU team to help arriving at the most efficient design. As tools to achieve these goals, we maintain a CPU lab for silicon experiments and a detailed performance/power CPU simulator for simulation studies. These are driven by workloads that we identify and bring up both on silicon and in full-system simulation.NVIDIA is committed to fostering a diverse work environment and proud to be an equal opportunity employer. As we highly value diversity in our current and future employees, we do not discriminate (including in our hiring and promotion practices) on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender expression , sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status or any other characteristic protected by law.
