Director, Engineering - HR Platforms
REPORTS TO: SR. DIRECTOR OR ABOVE
The Director of Engineering is a critical role in our Product and
Tech organization. - This highly visible member of the Technology
Leadership Team has overall accountability for the end-to-end
strategy of a specific vertical of Paylocity's business and will
lead multiple initiatives to deliver against that strategy.
This position requires a strategic leader committed to finding and
delivering against our customers' unmet needs. - This role will
enable a culture of innovation and ownership across all of Product
and Technology - ensuring the teams are entrepreneurial and
self-sufficient, while still focused on a common vision.

During the first six months, you will:
--- Identify, develop and articulate the appropriate tech missions,
developing an overall strategy for consistent delivery
--- Be a sounding board for ideas and a center of excellence for
all matters relating to current and future technologies
--- Develop a strategy to secure four 9's of long-term platform
stability and a world-class scalable architecture (and implement
it)
--- Work closely with our Information Security team to ensure that
our development teams are implementing security best practices and
remediating any vulnerabilities
--- Secure and establish strategies around internal vs. external
technology investments
--- Effectively build & maintain relationships with key
stakeholders
--- Create a culture of accountability, quality, agility,
operational excellence, and high performance that will foster the
attraction, development and retention of excellent product and
technical talent
--- Partner and contribute to go to market activities for Paylocity
products including coordinating with Sales, Customer Success,
Marketing, Finance and other teams
Required Experience:
--- A desire to continuously learn and improve yourself and those
around you
--- Experience working on highly visible, complex, continuous
delivery initiatives
--- A proven leader in the software engineering domain with a SaaS
product and cloud-based technologies
--- An infectious desire to mentor, coach, develop, attract, and
retain people
--- Experience presenting information, gaining feedback and
responding to questions from diverse groups of individuals,
including leaders, customers, and prospective customers
--- Compelling leadership style that includes extraordinary people,
program management skills, business and technology expertise with a

shows confidence
--- Hands-on knowledge of Agile engineering practices and a heavy
emphasis on continuous improvement leading to highly efficient and
productive engineering teams
--- Can develop and communicate and larger vision yet understands
when and how it is necessary to dive into detail
--- A master at execution, that lead teams to implement strategy
into results
--- A proven track record of defining business quarterly business
goals and delivering on those goals to drive profitable growth
