The Oasis at Death Valley is a true American oasis which consists

The Oasis at Death Valley features spring-fed swimming pools, an

The Oasis is located two hours northwest of Las Vegas, NV and four
hours northeast of Los Angeles, CA.
We are seeking a Human Resources Director that will be responsible
for the HR initiatives and goals to meet the organization's
business objectives and strategy. This individual will also
oversee, manage and direct all functions of the Human Resources
discipline, Employee Housing and Employee Recreation departments
for a large resort in Southern California; The Oasis at Death
Valley.
This position includes accommodation in a two-bedroom house on
property.
Responsibilities
-On a time sensitive basis become conversant and knowledgeable with
Xanterra Parks & Resorts policies and procedures ensuring a fully
functioning understanding of and ability to operate in the Human
Resources Director position within sixty to ninety days of job
commencement .
-Direct and support administration of training and development
programs, employee recognition programs and employee
orientations.
-Oversee staff of six human resource professionals and support
staff, ensuring all departmental functions are carried out in
compliance with company and property policy.
-Provide employee conflict resolution oversight. Offer guidance to
all levels of management with respect to Human Resources issues,
Company policy and procedure and employment law.
-In conjunction with Controller, prepare and administer annual
budget for Human Resources and Employee Housing departments.
-Monitor and oversee annual Affirmative Action Plan.
-Participate in weekly Executive staff meetings as required,
communicating effectively with the General Manager and other team
members as needed.
-Be available as scheduled to cover assigned Director on Duty
responsibilities.
-Responsible for all employee related communications, to include
monthly publication of property newsletter.
-Monitor staff recruiting to fill seasonal and year round
positions. Ensure standards established to facilitate application
review and the extension of job offers are maintained and
upheld
-Ensures a thriving employee culture inclusive of development
opportunities, recreation programs and a positive living
environment (Company owned and operated housing including homes,
apartments, dormitories and RV areas).
-Oversee the development and implementation of employee activities
to include property wide employee functions, holiday events and
miscellaneous activities through the Recreation Coordinator.
-Responsible for ensuring that all employees are aware of the
Ecometrix Policy, Xanterra's company-wide Environmental Management
System (EMS) and their roles and responsibilities in achieving
conformance to the policy.
-Facilitate and document annual departmental refresher trainings
with all employees, to include "Environmental Management Systems
(EMS) Awareness", "Emergency Action Plan procedures", bi-annual
sexual harassment training, etc.
-Other duties as assigned.
