Position Title: Membership Recruiter, Remote
Reports To: Director of Membership
FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt
Location: Remote via Traverse City, Michigan Service Center
Grade: 3
Hiring Range: $35,568 - $37,500 ($1,000 Sign on bonus after 90 days)

Position Summary: Community Membership Manager will travel and work with community volunteers throughout assigned regional areas to work with schools and community partners to recruit new girl members and connect with parents, caregivers, and potential volunteers. This position requires the person to obtain a deep knowledge of various communities, develop and enhance partnerships and meet membership goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure continuity of Girl Scout program in assigned areas by recruiting, supervising, and developing volunteers who will ensure membership opportunities for girls ages 5-17 of all racial, ethnic, religious, socio-economic and disability groups. Ensure girl and adult safety through promotion of safe practices.
2. Through analysis of community needs, demographic data, and membership statistics, develop, design, and conduct recruitment of girls.
3. Work with Service Unit volunteers to implement innovative approaches to program ensuring the development and delivery of local collaborative programs aligned to and supporting the Girl Scout leadership experience.
4. Assist Service Unit volunteers with girl and adult member recruitment, mentoring, training, and rectifying conflicts.
5. Support council functions through promotion of council sponsored activities, meetings, and volunteer opportunities.
6. Interpret and promote Girl Scouting to the community. Cultivate the interest and support of key community leaders, family members, institutions, and business organizations.
7. Develop annual operating budgets for membership services, operate within budget, economizing where possible, to ensure quality services are provided.
8. Other duties as necessary and when assigned.

--- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or experience commensurate with degree, preferably three years of related experience.

1. Accepts the principles and beliefs of Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) and Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore (GSMISTS).
2. Become a registered member of GSUSA.
3. Possess sales expertise and internal motivation to succeed.
4. Must have a valid driver's license, functioning vehicle, and the ability to travel within the jurisdiction.
5. Able to work a flexible schedule with at least 3-4 evenings a week and occasional weekends.
6. Flexible and team oriented. Able to overcome rejection and a drive to succeed and achieve goals.
7. Ability to work with adults and respect their individual differences.
8. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong public speaking skills.
9. Ability to analyze, plan, and evaluate.
10. Highly organized as it relates to time management and prioritization.
11. Strong human relations, problem solving, and conflict management skills required both in-person and on the
telephone when speaking with volunteers, staff, and organizations throughout the community.
12. Ability to organize, direct, and motivate individuals and groups.
13. Ability to learn and use Microsoft Office and Salesforce software.
14. Willingness to use multiple communication methods including telephone, texting, social media, and email.
15. Able to lift and/or manipulate up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule
--- Full-time salary position working at least 40 hours per week.
--- More hours may be required during peak seasons.
--- Position requires multiple evenings and occasional weekend work.
